During a recent press event for "The Lucky Ones", actor Michael Peña revealed to IESB that he was offered a part in "The Green Hornet" -- adding one more name to the short list of those associated with the project.
Peña wouldn't say which part he had been offered, only that Seth Rogen -- who is currently writing the script for the film with plans to star as its vigilante hero -- made him the offer. This news follows on the heels of an announcement earlier this week that Stephen Chow ("Kung Fu Hustle") would not only direct the film, but also co-star alongside Rogen as the hero's partner, Kato.
Begun as a radio show in the 1930s, "The Green Hornet" featured the adventures of newspaper publisher Britt Reid who fights crime by night as a masked hero with the help of his martial arts-savvy sidekick, Kato. The 1960s television series based on the property starred movie legend Bruce Lee as Kato.
Rogen's "Green Hornet" is scheduled for a June 25, 2010, release in theaters.
Are you feeling the Hornet's sting, readers? As more information pops up about this film, what are your thoughts about "The Green Hornet"?
