If 20th Century Fox wants a do-over for “Daredevil,” that would mean finding a new lead, since Ben Affleck has no interest in returning to Hell’s Kitchen.

“Wearing a costume was a source of humiliation for me, and something I wouldn’t want to do again soon,” Affleck told reporters years ago.

So who would consider it an honor, not a humiliation? Jason Statham has already thrown his hat in the ring , telling the L.A. Times, “Just give me a chance, I would love to be Daredevil.” (Frank Miller, who was sitting at the same table, agreed Statham would be a good choice).

But Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio’s co-star in the upcoming “Body of Lies,” Oscar Isaac, wants it even more — so much so he’s willing to make a huge sacrifice for the part.

“Daredevil is such an amazing character, I would love to do that,” Isaac said. “I’m not going to rag on the other Daredevil, but I would actually make myself blind for the role, that’s how much I want to do it. I would poke my eyes out, and then you would have an actual blind guy playing Daredevil. That would be my pitch. That’s where I’m starting at. Maybe I’ll rework it a little later, but I’m going to go with actually being blind.”

Now that’s devotion. Of course, we hope the studio wouldn’t actually hold Isaac to this should he get the part, or to this either: “I would die to be in a comic book movie,” he said.
