For those of us who are counting down the days until the release of “Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe” for PlayStation 3 and XBox 360, now we have even more to get all worked up about. Midway has announced that they will be releasing a special “North American Kollector’s Edition” of the game, which will feature a painted cover by iconic comic book artist, Alex Ross (he of “Marvels” and “Kingdom Come” fame).
In addition to yet-another breathtaking cover by Ross, those who purchase the special edition will also receive an exclusive removable print of the cover, as well as bonus video kontent — er, content. And if that’s not enough to get you pre-ordering this version of “MK vs. DCU,” there will also be a 16-page comic book by “Mortal Kombat” co-creator, John Tobias — which will tell a prequel of sorts about how these two universes came together to beat the ever-lovin’ crap out of each other — included with the special edition of the game.
After the jump, check out the full cover…

What do you think of the cover, Splash Page gamers? Would you like to see more special edition of comic book video games? Talk to us in the comments.
