Radical Publishing Teams-Up With Singapore Company To Further Comic & Film Projects

'City of Dust'Barry Levine’s Radical Publishing group has secured financing from Lee Han’s Singapore-based Lacho Calad Pte Ltd., which it will in turn use to self-finance films based on its stable upcoming comics.

According to a story on Variety.com, this financing will lead the way to new original comic series, adding to Radical’s list of big name creators including Peter Berg, John Woo and Johny Depp’s Infinitum Nihil production company. The new comics will include “Aladdin,” written by Siavash Farahani (screenwriter on “The Shadow”). The story is set to be a twist on the classic tale, this time complete with supernatural elements that will serve as a lesson to readers on the consequences of greed.

The second comic — which has already been announced — is writer Steve Niles’ “City of Dust,” which will be written by Peter Fedorenko with Niles on board to supervise the script. The story is a futuristic tale of police whose jurisdiction is people’s minds and thoughts, and follows a detective who’s tracking down a murderer.
