What is best in life? Some might say the answer is a new "Conan" movie based on the works of Robert E. Howard -- but only with the right people in front of, and behind, the camera. Over at AintItCoolNews, the latest "Conan" rumor has "X-Men 3" director Brett Ratner attached to an upcoming reboot of the famous barbarian's big-screen adventures.
"... It appears to be official that Brett Ratner is directing the godd--n thing," writes AICN's Moriarty.
Lionsgate's "Conan" reboot is currently scheduled for a 2010 release with writing partners Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain revising an earlier script, but little else is has been made official about the project -- including the actor who will play the barbarian. Back in August, "American Gladiator" Mike O'Hearn said he'd not only auditioned to play Conan, but was a sword-swing or two away from landing it, while "Red Sonja" director Douglas Aarniokoski teased that there might be a Conan cameo in his project, too.
What does seem certain about "Conan," however, is that the project is planned to be a more direct adaptation of Howard's novels. Stay tuned to Splash Page for more news as the project develops.
