If you're one of the many, many people still bitter about missing the "Watchmen" footage screened at this year's Comic-con International in San Diego, it looks like Warner Bros has a holiday gift just for you. The entire preview -- all 3-plus minutes of it -- is now available at no cost on iTunes.
Originally screened back in July, the footage was introduced by "Watchmen" director Zack Snyder and provided an up-close look at, among other elements, the shifting ink blots of Rorschach's mask and both The Comedian and Dr. Manhattan at various points in time. The trailer also features a nice look at the film's interpretation of former US President Richard Nixon and some action shots (instead of the black-and-white still images we've seen previously) of the film's retro-superhero team, The Minutemen.
Warner Bros also announced that the iTunes and iPhone Apps stores will soon be offering "the Essential Watchmen app for iPhone and iPod touch" in addition to the various featurettes, behind-the-scenes video journals and trailers for the film. We haven't been able to find the "Essential Watchmen App" at this point, so if you're able to check it out, let us know.
All of this, combined with yesterday's exclusive peek at the "Watchmen" Mobile Game from Glu Mobile and today's announcement that Warner Bros has launched their "Batman: Black & White" Motion Comic (in addition to the current "Watchmen" Motion Comics and upcoming "Superman: Red Son" Motion Comics), it would certainly appear that the house Superman built is carving out a nice little niche for itself in the mobile entertainment scene.
What do you think about the new "Watchmen" footage, readers? What about the "Watchmen" presence on iTunes?
