'The Warriors'With this year's New York Comic-Con just around the corner, news about the movies based on our favorite comic books was hard to come by this week, but that doesn't mean we weren't able to give you a full slate of reading material! Check it out:

- The week kicked off with more awards for "The Dark Knight," but ended with scheduling conflicts for Emily Blunt and "Iron Man 2."

- My Chemical Romance covering Bob Dylan's "Desolation Row"? We had your first look at the video for MCR's "Watchmen"-inspired song.

- Writer David Atchison gave us an exclusive preview of the first issue of "The Warriors" comic book adaptation hitting shelves in a few weeks.

- "Coraline" hits theaters soon, so we brought you an exclusive clip from "Coraline" and some thoughts from director Henry Selick on the "scare factor" of the stop-motion 3-D film, among other coverage. Heck, we even put the spotlight on Nike's "Coraline" sneakers!

- Finally, director Guillermo del Toro gave us an update on "Hellboy 3” and where it fits in his future plans.

See you next week, true believers!

'Tales of the Black Freighter'It's been a heckuva a week for those of us looking forward to the wide-release of "Watchmen" -- from our exclusive clip of My Chemical Romance's offering to the soundtrack, to all-new posters and images, to exclusive interviews with director Zack Snyder -- if there's still anyone out there not excited for the March 6 release, then they're just not paying attention.

And Warner Bros. has added the icing to the proverbial cake this afternoon, by releasing the specs to the accompanying DVD and Blu-ray collection of "Watchmen: The Black Freighter & Under the Hood" (the stories within the story for those of you who haven't read the comic). After the jump, we'll run down what fans can expect from the set. Read More...

'The Warriors'Earlier this week, I posted an exclusive, 10-page preview of "The Warriors" comic book adaptation published by Dabel Brothers that will debut at next weekend's New York Comic Con. As one might expect while chatting up "Warriors" writer David Atchison (who's tasked with adapting the cult classic film to the comic book medium), the conversation eventually touched on the colorful gangs of Walter Hill's 1979 film -- specifically, the bat-wielding Baseball Furies.

With this week's debut of a new "Warriors" poster featuring the Furies and created by popular comic book writer/artist Eric Powell ("The Goon"), I decided to pick Atchison's brain about the the gang that arguably evolved into the film's most memorable export. (You can check out a full version of the new "Warriors" poster at the end of this post.)

"The Baseball Furies are still creepy looking," said Atchison, but the writer confessed that even he's surprised that the threat posed by the baseball-themed gang has stood the test of time. Read More...

'The Flash'From what we've heard over the past few months, a feature film based on DC's Scarlet Speedster, The Flash, is certainly not living up to its moniker. Short of David Dobkin being announced as the film's director back in October of last year, there's been barely any movement on the project -- especially in terms of possible screenwriters.

But hold on to your hats, Flash fans, as IESB.com is reporting today that Dan Mazeau has been tapped to write the script for a feature film based on "The Flash." According to the site, Mazeau apparently impressed the head honchos over at Warner Bros. with his script for their upcoming film based on "Johnny Quest" so much that they decided to give him a crack at Flash...or did they? Christopher NolanLet's face it folks -- with all of the hoopla surrounding "The Dark Knight" lately in terms of Oscar recognition and box office receipts, when news of the inevitable follow-up to the biggest film of 2008 pops up, it's kind of hard to ignore. However, besides casting rumors being rebuffed (or actors reminding director Christopher Nolan that he has their phone number), fans around the world continue to wait with baited breath for the "big" announcement -- that being whether or not Nolan will return to the franchise as writer/director.

And today we get news that he may be one step closer to making his decision. According to a post over at IESB.com, "an extremely reliable source" informs them that the project is already in the process of being written by Nolan, Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer. Read More...

Emily BluntJanuary troubles for “Iron Man 2” don't seem to be over quite yet, as Emily Blunt, who was previously up to play the role of Russian femme fatale the Black Widow, probably won’t be in the film because of a scheduling conflict.

A report in Variety suggests that the "Iron Man 2" role was offered to her, but she’s under contractual obligation to star opposite Jack Black and Jason Segel in “Gulliver’s Travels,” which begins shooting in the U.K. in late March. “Iron Man 2,” goes before cameras in Southern California in April. Here at Splash Page, we feel that the only thing better than a great comic book movie is a great comic book video game. So, naturally, we must've watched the original teaser trailer for Eidos' "Batman: Arkham Asylum" roughly five-bajillion times when it hit the 'Tubes a few months back.

That being said, you can only imagine our excitement when we saw that Gamespot.com not only got their mitts on an all new exclusive trailer for the upcoming, super-creepy lookin' Batman video game, but that our favorite psychopath, The Joker, turns out to be the main attraction. Check it out below...

"Batman: Arkham Asylum" will be available for the XBox 360 and PS3, and is scheduled to hit stores later this year.

What do you think, readers? Gonna be picking this game up when it hits stores? We wanna hear from you in the comments.

'Dinobots'FROM MOVIES BLOG: Transformers fan-favorite characters the Dinobots aren't headed to the big screen in the upcoming "Transformers" sequel, but that doesn't mean they're headed for extinction.

In an interview with MTV, longtime Transformers comics scribe Simon Furman -- who also served as consultant on 2007's Michael Bay-helmed movie -- confirmed that, contrary to initial fan speculation, the upcoming "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen," will be Dinobot-free.

"I think that possibility was raised briefly and fairly comprehensively shot down," said Furman. "Much as I love the Dinobots, I'm glad."
