All is still quiet on the release of any official video game tied to “The Dark Knight.” The caped crusader seems to have skipped straight to “LEGO Batman” and “Arkham Asylum,” leaving “Dark Knight” orphaned as the loan modern Batman film without a game on one of the major consoles.
However, one talented fan funneled his restlessness into this snazzy trailer of what an NES-era “Dark Knight” game might look like.
YouTube user elmacbee probably had the right idea channeling Sunsoft as the faux game’s look. Anyone who played their original “Batman,” “Return of the Joker” or “Gremlins 2: The New Batch” should be able to appreciate the 8-bit cinematographer’s tricks here.
While mobile users can grab the small-screen "Dark Knight" game on the go, but there’s still nothing out there for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or Nintendo Wii.
So what do you think? Would you play this on the NES? Are we just as well getting games like “LEGO Batman” and “Akham Asylum” if a “Dark Knight” console game never pans out? Let us know in the comment section!
