The title may be "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," but despite the recent casting announcements, there haven't been any actual villains for the lovelorn titular character to face off against.
Well, after a series of castings for his friends, it looks like Scott Pilgrim finally has an enemy (and an annoying stalker) as Ain't It Cool News announced that Chris Evans (he of "Fantastic Four" and "Push" fame) has been cast as Lucas Lee -- a skateboarding movie star and one of the "Seven Evil Exes" Pilgrim (played by Michael Cera) must defeat in order to win the heart of Ramona V. Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).
In addition to Evans, up-and-coming actress Ellen Wong also signed on to play Knives Chau, a teenage Chinese schoolgirl and Pilgrim stalker. Furthermore, Aubrey Plaza ("Funny People") will take on the role of Julie Powers, an annoying on-again/off-again girlfriend of Pilgrim cohort Stephen Stills (who has yet to be cast for the film).
As mentioned, there's been quite a bit of movement on the film adaptation of Brian Lee O'Malley's "Scott Pilgrim" series of graphic novels (which follows Pilgrim -- a bass-player/dish washer who falls in love with a girl but must defeat her seven ex-boyfriends in order to win her heart). Last week, Kieran Cukin was tapped to play Pilgrim's gay roommate, Wallace Wells.
Filming will begin this March in Toronto.
