Earlier this week, we brought you some photos of the various "Watchmen" movie toys and collectibles that debuted at this year's Toy Fair convention -- but there were some elements of the "Watchmen" toy experience that we just couldn't capture via still images. For example, MTV's tour of the DC Direct showroom included some great commentary on the process of developing "Watchmen" products based on the movie from DC Direct's George Brewer.

"We worked very closely with the movie's creators to get those little details to make them very accurate," Brewer told MTV News. "The [replica Rorschach] mask was created from the actual patterns used to create the costume mask. We got the digital files for the Rorschach grappling gun." Read more...

'Breckin Meyer'Actor Breckin Meyer has certainly lived a charmed life in terms of all-things geek -- between his writing duties on ["Adult Swim" series] "Robot Chicken" and a cameo spot on "Heroes" with his buddy Seth Green, it's safe to say Meyer has some legitimate "nerd cred."

And if a Production Weekly post on Twitter can be believed, it looks as though Meyer will be taking what's he's learned from his time on the Comic Con circuit to the big screen, as the veteran actor is apparently making the jump to screenwriting, taking on writing chores for "Superguys." The film -- based on a story by Harry Elfont and Deb Kaplan (the team behind "Can't Hardly Wait") -- is being described as "'Ocean’s 11' with idiots set at Comic-Con." Read more...

This week, we were faced with a dilemma. We really wanted to catch the last of the much-ballyhooed 60-second "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" clips (especially after being blown away by the first two "Wolverine" movie clips -- titled "Outcasts" and "Brothers"), however, we really didn't want to sit through two hours of a mean British man yelling at wannabe pop stars to see it. On top of that, we super-really didn't want to have to wait until Thursday for the next Snikt!-fix!

Luckily, 20th Century Fox seems to have heard our impassioned pleas and leaked the third of the minute-long TV spots (titled "Legends") a day early.

While the clips thus far have been pretty Wolverine/Sabretooth-heavy, the other mutants get their turn in the spotlight for this final installment -- and they do not disappoint! Read more...

By now, after the barrage of "Watchmen" video clips and "Watchmen" viral websites and "Watchmen" movie stills that have hit the 'Net over the past few weeks, you'd think the good folks at Warner Bros. might be getting dangerously close to overkill -- but we say "keep it coming!"

And once again, Warner Bros. delivers, dropping five -- count 'em, five -- brand new videos around the web today.

Check out the first clip above that comes to us courtesy of MySpace Video, showing one of the comic's most dynamic splash panels come to life, then we've got another "Watchmen" clip for you after the jump (with links to the rest). Read more...

'Dead @ 17'"Dead @ 17" creator Josh Howard says "Superman Returns" and “X2: X-Men United” screenwriter Mike Dougherty will provide a big-screen adaptation his Viper Comics series about a demon-fighting undead teenager, with “High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens possibly starring as the story's hero, Nara Kilday.

During an interview on the Comics on Comics podcast, Howard said that last he heard, the "Dead @ 17" producers were targeting the teenage star for one of two roles in the film.

"I don't know if this is true anymore -- it's been a while since I received an update -- but they were talking to Vanessa Hudgens,” said Howard, who went on to speculate that she might play the title character but would probably be better for Nara's best friend, Hazy Floss. Read more...

'Watchmen'FROM MTV.COM: Somewhere in the future, movie audiences are marveling at "Watchmen," going wild about "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," laughing at "Land of the Lost," getting starry-eyed over "Star Trek" and being tickled pink by "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." For a lucky few, however, the future is now.

Yesterday morning, we gave you a look at some of the new "Dark Knight" toys and collectibles on display at Toy Fair 2009, including some great new action figures from Mattel and scary Batman and Joker collectibles from NECA. Well, it looks like we spoke -- or rather, posted -- too soon, as our tour of the DC Direct showroom on Monday afternoon yielded a bunch of new "The Dark Knight" movie merch that begged to be shared with Splash Page readers.

'The Dark Knight' Movie Toys

During the tour, DC Direct told MTV News that a new deal with Chinese toymaker Hot Toys would finally make the company's popular line of "The Dark Knight" figures available in the US. After getting a peek at some of the figures arriving stateside, the news should make more than a few collectors happy -- and the photos of the new "Dark Knight" line we've posted after the jump should explain why! Christopher Nolan and 'Batman Begins'There was no shortage of online chatter last week when it was announced that, instead of jumping into the next Batman movie, "The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan would direct "Inception," a "contemporary sci-fi actioner" based on an original screenplay he wrote. And with all of the speculation resulting from that announcement, it's no surprise that there have been more than a few individuals willing to comment on potential deals involving Nolan and the next movie based on DC's Caped Crusader.

Most recently, Batman-On-Film reported (via anonymous sources) that Nolan's deal for "Inception" includes "an agreement between the studio and the acclaimed director to helm his second sequel to 'Batman Begins.'" So, with all of the rumors being thrown around about "Batman 3," MTV News brought the most recent report to one of Nolan's official reps for a response.

"He is doing 'Inception' next," reiterated the Nolan rep. "We haven't announced any deal or anything on the next Batman as that is all speculation." Read more...

'Marvel Super Hero Squad'If you're an unabashed toy geek like me, then not only are you green with envy over those who got to go to Toy Fair this past weekend in New York City, but you're also well aware of Marvel's "Super Hero Squad" line of action figures. True, the line is geared toward the younger set, but where else are you gonna find a sweet "Punisher as Captain America" figure? (Seriously, let me know!)

Likewise, the news announced today in Variety should also perk up the ears of plastic heads everywhere, as Cartoon Network has ordered 26 episodes based on the toy line for an all new animated series. According to the report, the show will find cute lil' versions of Captain America, Silver Surfer, Hulk, Wolverine and Iron Man teaming up to fight adorable renditions of classic Marvel baddies, with a scheduled premiere date for later this year.
