Fresh off a new, nine-movie deal, Samuel L. Jackson recently commented about his return to the role of Marvel super-spy Nick Fury, claiming that his on-and-off status with the studio wasn't posturing, and that he was genuinely surprised things worked out.

The iconic actor known for roles in the “Star Wars” prequels and “Pulp Fiction” said it was "always a joy lose an eye, gain a patch and a really big facial scar in the name of character."
"I'm glad that in the end we were able to reach across the aisle and put our differences aside and do what's best for the franchise and the fans ... & ME TOO!," said Jackson.
Previously, it looked like Jackson wouldn’t be returning as Nick Fury -- news which prompted much discussion regarding whether such a small cameo in "Iron Man" was important enough to reprise in "Iron Man 2" and various other upcoming Marvel films. Eventually, though, the recent announcement of Jackson's nine-movie deal with Marvel Studios and there was much rejoicing.
