News from the world of comic book movies managed to ebb and flow this week, drying up at points with not a single scoop to speak of, and then flooding us with buzz-worthy stories on other days. Here's the breakdown:
- All engines were "go" at the start of the week when we debuted a new "Astro Boy" promo poster, and then followed it up with a new "Astro Boy" teaser trailer.
- Sam Raimi hinted at a possible big-screen debut for the other Spidey symbiote, Carnage, then addressed rumors about Mickey Rourke's involvement in "Spider-Man 4."
- Splash Page hosted three all-new, exclusive "Dragonball Evolution" clips from the live-action anime/manga adaptation.
But that's not all, folks!
- We presented a roundup of villains we'd like to see in "Batman 3," then Nicolas Cage told us he'd like to join the Dark Knight's rogues gallery, too.
- Reliable sources told us that there could be an animated "Public Enemy" movie in the works, based on the rap group's comic book series.
- David "The Hoff" Hasselhoff pondered comic book characters he almost played on the big screen... and those he did play, and would like to again.
- News about an upcoming "Robin Hood" movie had us thinking about our favorite comic book marksmen and their (potential) movies.
- "The Goon" creator Eric Powell explained what sold him on David Fincher producing the animated adaptation of his series.
- And finally, I gave you my report from the first-ever Webcomics Weekend convention -- which was a blast!
See you next week!
