'Spider-Man'Yesterday in Thailand, an eight-year-old boy with autism was rescued from a third-floor window ledge by Spider-Man -- or rather, a Thai fireman dressed like Marvel's famous web-slinger who proved to be a real-life superhero.

According to a Telegraph report, the new student at a special needs school in Bangkok became frightened during his first day and wandered off on his own. He wound up on a third-floor ledge outside a window, and then froze, too frightened to move when teachers and firefighters beckoned for him to come inside. Read more...

Megan FoxBy Mel Caylo

Earlier this month, news broke that "Transformers" star Megan Fox was attached to star in a live-action adaptation of the "Fathom" comic book series published by Aspen MLT. "Fathom" tells the story of a beautiful marine biologist and former Olympic swimmer named Aspen Matthews who discovers she’s a member of a race of aquatic humanoids.

In an interview with Wizard Universe, Aspen president and "Fathom" Executive Producer Frank Mastromauro explained why Megan Fox was the right choice for the role in the Fox Atomic film.

“She knows so much about 'Fathom,' which is spectacular," said Mastromauro. "Growing up, she was a huge fan of the book and a huge fan of [late 'Fathom' creator] Michael [Turner]. When we met her, she was already well versed in ['Fathom'] volume one and [was] asking us questions about the book." Read more...

'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'If you've seen any of the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" TV spots or "Wolverine" movie trailers over the past month (and really, they're kind of hard to miss these days), then you've seen the shots of Wolverine and Sabretooth fighting side-by-side throughout some of history's most pivotal wars.

Just to hammer the point home that the two borderline-feral mutants have seen their share of battles and bloodshed, Fox has released yet-another trailer, showing Wolverine and Sabretooth kickin' ass through the ages -- from the Civil War to WWII to the Vietnam conflict. And while you can check out the latest trailer after the jump, this one offers something extra: a link giving fans the chance to play as Wolverine in an online video game titled "Time Warriors." Marvel UniverseFROM MULTIPLAYER BLOG: In the near future, after you’ve seen Marvel’s upcoming “Captain America” movie (in 2011) and “Avengers” movie (in 2012) — when all of that is out of the way — you should play Marvel’s massively multiplayer online game.

Expect that to happen in 2012, because that’s the sequence of events Marvel’s president of worldwide consumer products, Simon Philips, told my Splash Page blog colleague Rick Marshall in a recent interview.

“It sounds like a long way away, but it’s not,” he said. “We’ve got to create, together with [game publisher] Gazillion, that environment that is going to be a totally immersive experience and a perpetual storytelling experience as well.” Philips said that he sees MMOs as “the next generation of storytelling.”

'The Crow'By Josh Wigler

Back in December, it was announced that Stephen Norrington would direct a remake of "The Crow," the 1994 cult film based on James O'Barr's classic graphic novel. While there are those clamoring for the gothic hero to grace the screen again, many are flabbergasted at the notion of retreading on Brandon Lee's final film.

Joining the list of the shocked, awed and repulsed is Alex Proyas, director of the original "Crow" and the newly released "Knowing." Proyas told Digital Spy, "The whole notion of remaking ['The Crow'], to me, is just ridiculous and I'd have nothing to do with it, as I've had nothing to do with any of the sequels or the TV show or any of that stuff." Seth RogenWhen your cinematic recipe for "The Green Hornet" involves a screenwriter/lead actor known mostly for his comedy chops, a gravity-defying Hong Kong action star, a French director whose films give new meaning to the term "avant-garde," and possibly Adam Sandler, clearly, it's a bit difficult to predict what type of flick you're going to serve up.

Heck, even Seth Rogen doesn't seem to be too sure of what he's got himself into. Read more...

Johnny DeppJohnny Depp's production company, Infinitum Nihil, already has its script and an impressive lead actor (namely, A-list leading man Depp) tagged for the live-action adaptation of Arvid Nelson and Eric Johnson's comic book series "Rex Mundi." In their search for a "Rex Mundi" director, the bar is remaining as high for the talent behind the camera as it is in front of it.

According to Infinitum Director of Development Sam Sarkar, the studio wants a talent on the level of "Watchmen" mastermind Zack Snyder to bring the Dark Horse series to the big screen.

"We really need to find a guy who has that kind of visual style -- not unlike Zack Snyder," Sarkar told MTV News. "You need a guy that’s that kind of visionary to do 'Rex,' because it’s a really visually complex world." Read more...

Scott PilgrimWith the "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" cast hard at work with director Edgar Wright in Toronto now, details about how the much-anticipated adaptation will look are finally starting to trickle out. Right now, the world knows that Wright will be using computer-enhanced effects in the insane "Scott Pilgrim" fight scenes, but very few people have been privy to what is actually going to end up on screen. However, actor Mark Webber, who plays Scott Pilgrim's bandmate Stephen Stills, is one of those people.

"Back in October, [Edgar] whips out his laptop and he shows me a rough sequence of one of the fight scenes, staged out with just some stunt actors," Webber told MTV News. "I have such a hard time describing it other than that Scott's character was flying through the air, and when there was a kick, there was -- stuff! But it looked so realistic." Read more...

Taye DiggsThough not 100-percent official yet, it's looking like Taye Diggs will be taking an undead approach to acting, starring as the main villain in the "Dylan Dog" comic book series adaptation, titled "Dead of Night."

Shocktilyoudrop reports that Diggs will be joining the cast opposite "Superman Returns" actor Brandon Routh, and will play the role of a vampire in the big-screen adaptation of Tiziano Sclavi's Italian comic book series. Read more...
