Brett RatnerHe's the rumored front-runner to call the shots on a "Conan" revamp, he's officially onboard to produce and direct an adaptation of Rob Liefeld's "Youngblood," and he already has one financially successful comic book adaptation under his belt (2006's "X-Men: The Last Stand"), but Hollywood heavyweight Brett Ratner isn't done with comics. In fact, he wants to do more movies based on them.

"I would do any superhero movie that I was asked to do," Ratner told MTV News. "But I wouldn’t have been interested in 'Iron Man.' I have a lot of respect for [Jon Favreau], because to me, it was a B-character. 'Iron Man'? ... But look what he did." Read more...

WantedUniversal Pictures and The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) are butting heads over Angelina Jolie's gunplay in an advertisement for the big-screen adaptation of "Wanted" that was recently launched in the UK. The film, based on the Top Cow comic by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones, doused itself in bullets and over-the-top violence when it hit theaters in 2008, but the regulation agency now says Jolie makes guns look way too attractive for television.

"We concluded the ad could be seen to condone violence by glorifying or glamorising the use of guns," stated the ASA in a comment to Telegraph.co.uk. (You can check out the offending advertisement and more on the legal scuffle surrounding it after the jump.) Read more...

'Watchmensch'"Watchmen" is on a troubling box-office slide these days, but this week (today, in fact) will see the U.S. debut of "Watchmensch," veteran comics columnist Rich Johnston's graphic novel that parodies the much-beloved Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons story, and offers up a clever, Yiddish-laden take on the comics industry, its relationship with Hollywood, and creators' rights.

Written by Johnston and with art by Simon Rohrmuller, "Watchmensch" tells the tale of an investigation by the Rorschach-themed, "Oy Vey"-exclaiming character "Spottyman" who believes that the death of a comics industry lawyer could mean a much greater conspiracy against the courtroom defenders of comic book creators' rights. Spottyman looks to get the legal team back together and, if early previews are any indication, hilarity ensues. Read more...

BatmobileBy Josh Wigler

Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" might be the most realistic of all the "Batman" films thus far, but chalk it up to the Tim Burton era for conceiving the first road-ready Batmobile. And just in case you're looking to revisit some of that original Batman movie magic, Kruse International is selling "an exact recreation" of the Caped Crusader's car as featured in 1989's original Michael Keaton "Batman" movie.

"The car is true to the movie in every way from its flame throwing afterburner to the 50 cal machine guns, alumn side intakes, grills, steel front turbine, alumn afterburner and real side mechanics," claims the description of the custom replica. Read more...
