During a press event for "Obsessed," the thriller that premiered this weekend featuring Idris Elba, Beyonce and Ali Larter, Splash Page was afforded the chance to play the "What If?" game yet again with a little-known casting decision that could have made a dramatic difference in a well-known film.
According to Larter, the blonde "Heroes" star was once up for the role of another super-powered character: Susan Storm in 2005's "Fantastic Four." While director Tim Story eventually went with Jessica Alba for the character, Larter had no problem offering up her own thoughts on almost landing the role.
"Yeah, I auditioned for it," Larter told MTV News. "They went with Jessica Alba, which is a totally different thing." Read more...

Wolverine's healing factor has seen him through plenty of hairy situations -- and while his restorative properties might be powerful enough to weather his movie's online leak earlier this month, can Logan overcome... The Swine Flu?
Due to Mexico's recent outbreak of Swine Flu -- a lethal sickness stemming from pig populations -- several establishments in Mexico City are set to close, including movie theaters. And the results of said closures could be catastrophic for "X-Men Origins: Wolverine's" box office numbers in the country. Read more...

FROM MOVIES BLOG: When the “G.I. Joe” live-action movie finally got a greenlight after more than a decade in development, fans of the series seemed to have two main concerns: That they’d mess up the look of the beloved characters, and that Marlon Wayans would be cracking too many jokes. And while I haven’t got much evidence to shoot down that first fear, I can tell you when we recently caught up with Marlon, he insisted that “The Rise of Cobra” kept his “Little Man” hijinks in check.
“The movie is serious, action and some comedy - but not all comedy,” insisted the star, who will bring an extremely different look to the High Altitude Low Opening jumper in the August 7th flick. “You pull off the reigns; I did what was appropriate for the role and for the character.”

That sound you heard last week? That was millions of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" fans yelling "Cowabunga!" at the news that the famous Heroes in a Half Shell would be returning to the big screen in a new movie scheduled to hit theaters in 2011.
While rumors of a new TMNT movie have been circulating for a while now, last week's official announcement kicked off a nationwide celebration of the characters' 25th Anniversary.
Back in September, I spoke with "Ninja Turtles" co-creator Peter Laird to clear up some of the initial rumors surrounding the film, and now that it's official, he was able to offer a few more details about the return of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo to the big screen. Read more...

While we still haven't seen Josh Brolin disfigured for the lead role in "Jonah Hex," we now have a good idea of what actress Megan Fox will be wearing for her role as Leila in the film -- and let's just say that it doesn't leave all that much to the imagination.
Over at SuperHeroHype, there are seven new photos of the "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" actress in costume on the set of the live-action movie based on the adventures of DC Comics' scarred, ex-Confederate bounty hunter. The photos show Fox in two outfits -- one being the aforementioned showgirl costume, and the other a more reserved, jacket-and-hat outfit she wears inside a coach. I've posted an image of the former after the jump. Read more...

Though he hasn’t seen a script yet, Matthew McConaughey seems to have changed his tune regarding a potential role in the “Captain America” film.
Late last year, McConaughey didn’t seem to know who “Captain America” was, much less have an interest in playing him, but repeated mentions of his name with that of the patriotic leader of The Avengers may have sent the “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” star to the back-issue bin. Read more...

The world of Sci-Fi Channel's hit television series "Eureka" continues to evolve alongside its comics counterpart, with the first issue of a new miniseries titled "Eureka: Dormant Gene" hitting shelves this week.
"Eureka" creator Andrew Cosby joins Jonathan L. Davis, the writer of 2005's "The Dukes of Hazzard" movie, for an in-continuity story that has Zoe Carter (played by Jordan Hinson in the TV series) falling for the new guy at her high school. What she doesn't know, however, is that his appearance at her high school isn't the only thing "new" about him.
Read on for more details about "Dormant Gene," as well as an exclusive, 12-page preview featuring art by Mark Dos Santos and covers by J.K. Woodward. Read more...

Edgar Wright's "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" has assembled its cast, its band Sex Bob-Omb, and an intriguing website of updates, but Universal now appears to be courting possible partners for merchandising -- meaning awesome Scott Pilgrim toys could be on the way.
Universal's Products division will be vetting candidates for potential Scott Pilgrim "apparel and accessories, electronic accessories, collectible figures, novelty, stationery and social expressions," according to License Magazine. Whether those "collectible figures" exclusively take on realistic actor-likenesses for the film's characters will remain to be seen, but there is plenty of potential for some bombastic toys in the comics series' books. Although he didn’t join the group until more than 10 years after it was created, the Canadian hero called both “Wolverine” and "Logan" is the most widely known member of the X-Men. Born a mutant, he was gifted with heightened senses, bone claws, and a healing factor that slowed his aging and made him tough to kill. Logan was eventually subjected to an experiment called "Weapon X" that laced his skeleton with adamantium, a metal alloy that made him nearly indestructible. The same experiment apparently wiped out his memories, leaving him haunted by his unknown past.
While comic book readers have been able to piece together the popular character's past over the years, Logan only managed to regain his memories a few years ago. Now, movie audiences will get their own crash course on Wolverine's beginnings in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," which hits theaters this week.
For anyone who enjoys Wolverine stories and wants do some reading before (or after) the film premieres this week, we've compiled a list of must-read stories starring the mutant who's “the best he is at what he does” -- and as you'll learn from the stories below, what he does is provide some great reading!
