If Jon Favreau's Twitter updates and comments from Tony Stark haven't already made it clear that "Iron Man 2" is moving along just fine, then perhaps this will whet your appetite.
USA Today has posted the first official image from "Iron Man 2," the sequel to last year's smash-hit superhero flick. The photograph looks as though it was lifted directly from the set of the first "Iron Man" movie, indicating that there is a visual continuity between the films sure to make moviegoers happy as Hogan. (Check out the full image after the jump.)

In the image, you can clearly see four different Iron Man suits. Marks I - III look to be pictured left to right, but what is that other red-and-gold armor on the far right? It might have something to do with a recent Favreau Twitter update, in which he mentioned that a "[new] on set practical suit is a marked improvement. Much lighter and less restrictive. Downey looks great in it." Only one sequel in, and we've already got new Iron armor? Awesome.
Favreau also had thoughts on the mission statement for "Iron Man 2." As he's previously shared, the crux of the film will focus largely on Tony Stark's decision to unmask himself at the end of the first movie.
"How many superheroes are open about their true identities?" asked Favreau. "We wanted to play with that idea. But it obviously has consequences -- in his relationships, on the team. There are a lot of areas we can explore."
Now, when Favreau says "the team" -- is he talking about his inner circle of Pepper Potts, Jim "Rhodey" Rhodes and Happy Hogan? Or is he referring to that mysterious initiative (*cough*) that Nick Fury spoke of at the end of "Iron Man"? Don't count on an answer anytime soon -- at least not from Favreau's camp.
"It's never easy with summer movies, but we're trying to keep as much a surprise as possible," Favreau revealed.
What do you think of the new picture from "Iron Man 2"? Has it got you revved up for next year's superhero sequel? Strap on your armor and meet us in the comments!
