Iron Man 2Even though all the major players are in place, there's still a lot of mystery surrounding "Iron Man 2" -- from exactly what sort of villain Mickey Rourke is playing and how Scarlett Johansson will look in a Black Widow spy suit to the cameos we can expect from other Marvel heroes in the film. Well, the mystery is only going to deepen with the latest batch of photos to hit the 'Net.

SuperHeroHype has posted six photos from a "massive construction project at the foot of the Sepulveda Dam in L.A." that the site claims is actually a set for "Iron Man 2." According to the photos, the set is identified by a sign that reads "Rasputin" at the entrance to the construction site, visible to drivers along the 101 Ventura Freeway in San Fernando Valley. FROM MTV MOVIES: You can keep your namby-pamby heroes, with their chiseled jaws, steely blue eyes and frost-tipped hairdos. The rest of us prefer to root for villains — those devious, cackling, bloodthirsty beings who exist solely to take over the world and ruin the good guy's day in the process.

Once again, the MTV Movie Awards offers fans the rare opportunity to recognize the best of the worst, bringing you an evil-packed Best Villain category filled with homicidal madmen, comical-but-deadly double-agents and a killer clown from Gotham City. Make sure to cast your vote, and then tune in Sunday evening at 9 p.m. ET to watch the winner live.

But first, read on as we handicap the competition.

30 Days of NightSteve Niles might like writing savage, crafty vampires like those that invade Alaska in his "30 Days of Night" comics, but that doesn't mean that he lacks a soft spot for the the classier, romantic bloodsuckers in Stephenie Meyers' "Twilight" books. Quite to the contrary, the horror writer behind "Wake the Dead" and "Freaks of the Heartland" has nothing but the utmost respect for his colleagues who take a softer approach to their vampire stories.

"It’s just a different way of looking at things," Niles told MTV News. "Everybody assumes that from watching '30 Days of Night' that I hate Anne Rice and the whole notion of romantic vampires, but it’s actually just the opposite." Read More...

Green LanternA disclaimer before we begin: This is not an official "Green Lantern" trailer. We repeat, this is not an official "Green Lantern" trailer. But lord knows we wish it was.

Given the absence of much official info regarding the much-anticipated DC here's live-action debut, Jaron Pitts, a young video editor from Dallas, fabricated a trailer for his own vision of "Green Lantern" by splicing together clips from a multitude of other film projects. The trailer features fan-favorite actor Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan, utilizing clips from Fillion's work on "Firefly" and "Serenity" in the trailer. The actor himself loved the fan trailer so much that he even endorsed it on Twitter.

"I LOVE THIS!" Fillion proclaimed. "This guy rocks!" Read More...

Katee SackhofBizarre rumor of the week: Katee Sackhoff, who played the hot-headed fighter pilot Starbuck on the recently concluded "Battlestar Galactica" television series, was at Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles last week to procure a significant chunk of comic books starring Daredevil character Typhoid Mary. According to the store, Sackhoff herself proclaimed that she's hoping to land a role in a Marvel movie.

While the Sackhoff seen at Golden Apple could well be a Cylon impostor trying to confuse the comic book community, there's also a good chance that this means a film is in the works featuring Typhoid Mary. The question, of course, is which Marvel film would she be in? Read More...

Captain AmericaIt’s Memorial Day here in the U.S., and that means remembering those who have fought and fallen for the country. With that in mind, we thought it would be worth putting the spotlight on five patriotic superheroes who have died in the line of duty.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: Steve Rogers was not the first patriotic-themed hero but he was the one who stood above all the rest. A kid from Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Steve volunteered for “Operation: Rebirth” in the 1940s and was transformed into a super-soldier. Circumstances led him to be placed in suspended animation in 1945 and he did not awake again until decades later, becoming a “man of time” but determined to still fight for the ideals he believed America stood for (even if he no longer trusted the government itself). Joe KubertJoe Kubert is one of the legendary figures of the comic book industry, known as much for his famed art school as he is the artist of books like "Sgt. Rock" and "Hawkman." He had narrowly missed World War II -- and in fact one of his earliest jobs was working on "The Spirit" when Will Eisner was drafted -- but in the early 50's the creator's number was called, and he joined the Korean conflict. The following interview is from 2001, where we discuss his wartime experiences, his involvement with war comics and...his connection to the Three Stooges? Yup. Read on, as we honor our fallen veterans.

You were in your teens in 1947. Do you remember where you were when Pearl Harbor was attacked?

I recall that rather vividly. I was in my early teens. I was born in 1926, so I was about 15 and was already working as a cartoonist. I was in my home, in my bedroom, it was on Sunday morning. I was drawing pictures, as I was already a pro cartoonist for comic books. I don’t think I really understood the significance of what was happening when the news came over that Pearl Harbor was bombed. Read More...

Eminem as The JokerAnother weekend is here, and that means we have another breakdown of the week's top stories to send your way. Before we get into it, though, we just want to remind you that this weekend you can catch a hilarious interview with "Land of the Lost" stars Will Ferrell and Danny McBride, the broadcast premiere of the "Brüno" trailer, an exclusive clip of Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds," the very first visit to the set of Russell Brand's "Get Him to the Greek" and much more Sunday at 11 PM EST on "Behind the Screen," MTV's movie show!

- Eminem's "Dark Knight"-inspired turn as the Joker dominated this week's headlines, and inspired some pretty active debates all around the 'Tubes.

- Marvel found its Loki -- but what about the official word on Thor? That question had readers clicking through in a big way this week.

- Sam Raimi talked "Spider-Man 4" with us, but seemed a bit uncertain about the return of his Mary Jane Watson.

... But wait, there's more! Read More...

Poison IvyWe've been raving about "Batman: Arkham Asylum" for a while now, so we can probably dispense with the normal "Oohs" and "ahhs" that accompany every new glimpse we get of the game. This time around, a new character profile video has hit the 'Net featuring Batman nemesis Poison Ivy, who uses her power over plant life to make trouble for The Dark Knight.

To be honest, if it wasn't for the "Arkham Asylum" gameplay videos and impressive (though limited) demo we've seen thus far, I'd be pretty sure this game was too good to be true. Both the Bane and Harley Quinn trailers looked that good, but I've been burned by pretty cinematics before. Read More...
