Megan FoxThe week after Comic-Con is always a rough one as we try to get back into the swing of our regular routines and, on the news side, we begin the long process of sorting through all of the interviews and information we accumulated during the big show. After being inundated with news from the comics scene and Hollywood the last 10 days or so, it's a wonder anything can get readers buzzing -- but that's exactly what quite a few stories were able to do this week.

Here's how the Top 10 stories looked for the week, and taking a cue from the MTV Movies Blog crew, I'm going to start counting down the ten highest-traffic posts, ending with the most popular story of the week:

10. In this Comic-Con video, "Iron Man 2" actor Sam Rockwell explained how he "reinvented" Tony Stark's nemesis, Justin Hammer, for the blockbuster sequel. Read more...

Tony StarkAs if all of the new "Iron Man 2" footage wasn't enough to get fans excited, Comic-Con attendees were also treated to a Marvel booth that featured full-size replicas of the various Iron Man suits Tony stark wore during the first film, along with business-suited staffers handing out cards for "Stark Industries." The cards pointed recipients to the website www.starkindustriesnow.com, which recently launched with a note from the company's current head honcho.

"For Immediate Release: We No Longer Make Weapons! Sincerely, Tony Stark," reads the stained bar napkin posted on the front page of the site, along with the footnote, "Pepper, Pls. post exactly as is."

But the note from Iron Man himself isn't all the new website appears to be offering. Read more...

Another Comic-Con has come and gone, but I arrived back at Splash Page HQ to find a big ol' pile of boxes waiting for me. Some of the new swag included some great Comic-Con exclusives -- not the least of which was a massive Abe Sapien that is now staring down at me as a write this. It is unnerving, to say the least.

Swag Report

There were also some great books, toys and an assortment of geekery that reminds me why being the editor of Splash Page is such a privilege.

Following the still-unmatched success of "Titanic," James Cameron made a curious career decision -- he decided to stop making fictional, plot-driven films, if only for a time. Nearly a decade later, the "Aliens" director is back with "Avatar," a technology-heavy film that's poised to change the way that movies are made.

While Cameron has already sworn off the superhero genre, his feature following "Avatar" is sure to put a smile on the faces of comic book enthusiasts -- "Battle Angel Alita."

"Maybe, maybe," Cameron told MTV News when asked if the long-discussed "Alita" would be his next film. "We're going to look at that." Read more...

World War RobotThere are already filmic plans for a world war waged against zombies, but how about one that's fought against an army of robots? Sure, it's been done before in "Terminator," but those Schwarzenegger-resembling robots have never taken to space, have they?

That landscape is set to change in "World War Robot," an upcoming movie based on the popular IDW Publishing comic book by writer-artist Ashley Wood. Variety reports that producer Jerry Bruckheimer picked up the comic's feature film rights during last weekend's Comic-Con International.

"World War Robot" is a galaxy-spanning conflict between man and machine, told through diary-like anecdotes from both human resistance fighters and their physically dominant robot enemies. The titular war takes place in a bevy of interplanetary locations including Earth, the moon and Mars. Read more...

ThundercatsThere hasn't been much movement on the "Thundercats" movie based on the 1980s cartoon series that was proposed a few years back, but that hasn't stopped people from pondering what the live-action adventures of Lion-O, Cheetara, Panthro and the rest of the warriors from Thundera would look like on the big screen.

Back in December, a brilliant, fan-made "Thundercats" trailer hit the 'Net that cast Brad Pitt, Vin Diesel and other prominent actors in the film, but now we have our first look at some of the actual concept art created for the movie. Initially intended to be a directing vehicle for longtime art director Jerry O'Flaherty, "Thundercats" has been stalled since 2007, yet the four images posted online offer a nice look at how the movie was envisioned and what it could look like if it ever gets rolling again. Edward NortonEven if "Iron Man 2" was the centerpiece of Marvel Studios' Comic-Con lineup, there are eager eyes awaiting "The Avengers," the eventual superhero smash-up that would combine Tony Stark, Thor and Captain America in one mighty movie. But a fair question that hasn't been addressed in quite some time involves a decidedly less heroic Marvel creation -- and a significantly greener one, too.

Edward Norton, who starred as Bruce Banner in last summer's "Incredible Hulk," previously expressed skepticism on whether he'll appear as the Jade Giant in "The Avengers," but Sci Fi Wire reports that the actor is currently keeping tight-lipped about the feather in Marvel's cap.

"I probably won't comment on that just because [Marvel] keeps a pretty tight rein on what they are letting out," Norton told reporters. "I'll let them [address it]." Read more...

Movie soundtracks tend to be pretty hit-or-miss, but I feel pretty safe predicting that Edgar Wright's upcoming adaptation of "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" will produce one of the best albums to come out of a comic book movie (or any movie, for that matter) in quite a while.

The involvement of Radiohead and Beck producer Nigel Godrich is impressive on its own, but when I had the chance to talk with actor Brandon Routh ("Superman Returns") about the movie and Todd Ingram, the character he plays who is both a nemesis to Pilgrim and the bassist for rival band The Clash at Demonhead, the conversation quickly turned to the film's music -- specifically, would he be playing any of it?

"I do, I play the bass. ... I had a few months of rehearsal," Routh told MTV News. "We play a song. There's a band called Metric, and so we cover their song. It's this Canadian band." Read more...

CouriersAnyone who's every been in New York City knows couriers are probably the last people to cross on the Isle Manhattan, but "Lost" writer and creator of ABC Family's completed "Middleman" series Javier Grillo-Marxuach is even more aware than most, having written the film adaptation of Brian Wood ("Local," "DMZ") and Rob G's ("Teenagers From Mars") comic book series "Couriers."

Grillo-Marxuach told MTV News that he was approached by Intrepid Pictures to write a script for the high-action comic book adaptation back in 2006, which he's since completed. Now the involved parties are waiting to see what develops in Hollywood.

"I've written the script and we've had studio interest and directors attached and all that, and now we're just hoping to make this movie," said Grillo-Marxuach. Read more...

For those keeping score at home, director Zack Snyder has been saying for years that he’d love to direct a movie based on “The Dark Knight Returns,” Frank Miller’s now-classic tale of an older Batman returning from retirement to take down Harvey Dent and a violent gang called “The Mutants.” The two biggest problems with this, obviously, are that a world-class filmmaker now runs the Batman franchise, and it’s hard to imagine anyone else but Christian Bale playing Batman.

So, what’s the solution for the “Watchmen” filmmaker? Wait it out.

“Frank’s ‘Dark Knight’ is a 50-year-old Batman,” explained Snyder, who we caught up with at Comic-Con while he was promoting his dazzling new “Watchmen” Director’s Cut on Blu-Ray. “The reality is that Batman, as a franchise at Warner Brothers, is doing pretty good; people have heard of it.” Read more...
