While "Star Trek" actor Clifton Collins Jr. confirmed to MTV News last month that he had a meeting with the live-action "Thor" movie team, it now looks like we won't be seeing him in the much-anticipated Kenneth Branagh film when it hits theaters in May 2011.
"I have nothing to do with that piece," said Collins in an interview with TheDeadbolt. "Absolutely nothing."
Collins name first surfaced in connection with the film when he mentioned on Twitter that he was "studying my ass off for 'Thor'" and later, "Brewing big pot of joe, hitting ‘Thor’ hard this mornin!"
When we caught up with the actor a few days later, he confirmed to MTV News that he had indeed "had a little meeting" with the "Thor" movie team, though he couldn't share any details of the subject matter of the meeting or which character, if any, he was hoping to portray.
However, Collins now explained the Twitter postings away and reiterated his lack of involvement, saying, "I was just preparing stuff. It's a fantastic director, a great piece, but I have absolutely nothing to do with it."
Oh, and he still couldn't reveal which character he had met with Marvel to play, either.
"Thor" hits theaters May 20, 2011.
Good news? Bad News? What are your thoughts on the "Thor" situation thus far, folks?
