Miley CyrusIf there should be another "Batman" movie then it seems like teen queen Miley Cyrus wants a piece of the action, literally. According to the gossip blogs, Cyrus auditioned for the role of Batgirl and might be considered by Warner Bros. for a future role in the series.

According to Hollyscoop.com, the "Hannah Montana" star reportedly "stunned" Warner execs during her audition, even dressing for the part in a "full batsuit." Read More...

Seth Rogen got excited when he revealed Cameron Diaz's new role in his upcoming "Green Hornet" film under director Michel Gondry. Though Gondry said he would be taking her character, Lenore Case, in a different direction than previous "Hornet" incarnations, Rogen confirmed that she would still play secretary to the title hero's alter ego Britt Reid. Asked for her own take on Lenore, Diaz was willing to say little more than verifying her name.

"Lenore, yes, and I think that's all I can tell you or else I would have to kill you," the actress told MTV News. All of the revelations for the week, as it turns out, were left to Gondry and the film's car, nicknamed "The Black Beauty," which was out on display on the Comic-Con show floor.

Legion"Tranformers: Revenge of the Fallen" won't be the only film featuring Tyrese Gibson to have its own comics at IDW by the end of 2009. The publisher announced at last week's Comic-Con International in San Diego that they will publish a four-issue weekly miniseries in November in advance of next year's Screen Gems film "Legion." The mini, titled "Legion: Prophets," will set the stage for the movie with a prequel tale anticipating the apocalypse.

"There were a lot of cool and scary characters and situations that I wasn't able to include in the main narrative of the movie, so I'm very excited to be able to expand the 'Legion' universe beyond the film and explore those other stories through the comic book series," said Scott Stewart, the film's director. "I'm a big fan of IDW's books and it's a real thrill to be able to collaborate with them on 'Legion: Prophets.'" Read More...

Darren BousmanLess than a week after announcing Len Wiseman as the director for the film adaptation of their "Shrapnel" comics, Radical Publishing punctuated their San Diego Comic-Con appearance with news that "Saw II" director Darren Bousman will write and direct a movie version of their upcoming "Abattoir" title, which he co-created with his partner Michael Peterson.

"I am addicted to haunted house stories," Bousman said in a press release. "My addiction to this genre became an obsession to create one of my own. Abattoir is my spin on a haunted house story." Read More...

Jonah HexDC Comics proved Internet rumors of a "Jonah Hex" animated short film to be well founded during their "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" panel on Friday at Comic-Con. The publisher's resident ugly cowboy already has a heightened profile this year due to Jimmy Hayward's upcoming feature film starring Josh Brolin and Megan Fox, and it appears that Hex's expanded spotlight was enough to earn him slot among Warner Home Video's newly announced -- but still secret -- lineup of animated projects.

Warner Premiere, Warner Bros. Animation, Warner Home Video and DC Comics are in fact preparing new animated shorts, DC Comics Senior Vice President of Creative Affairs Gregory Noveck said at the panel. He explained that while DC and Warner Bros. were not ready to reveal further details, he could confirm "Jonah Hex" as being among a series of animated shorts being produced and that Joe R. Lansdale would be writing it. Read More...

With all of the attention heaped on "Iron Man 2," "Thor," "The First Avenger: Captain America" and Marvel's superhero team-up film "The Avengers," it's easy to forget about some of the other characters in the Marvel Universe rumored to have big-screen projects in the works. When we spoke to "Lost" actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje during a Comic-Con red carpet he told MTV News that he's been talking to Marvel about bringing one of those lesser-known characters to the screen -- specifically, the African warrior-king known as The Black Panther.

"We're talking to Marvel about 'Black Panther,'" Akinnuoye-Agbaje told MTV News. "This is the first round, so you know, hopefully they'll look at 'G.I. Joe' and see the potential. But it's about time we have a black superhero, isn't it?"

Akinnuoye-Agbaje said his hopes were high for the film, and the conditions were never better for it to get the green light.

"He's from a fictional village in Africa and the timing is so right for that kind of character to come through," he said. "And while I'm in my prime, this is the time. We've got [U.S. President Barack] Obama, now we need something on screen to represent, so... 'Panther,' man."

What do you think about Akinnuoye-Agbaje playing Black Panther? Think he'd be a good choice to bring T'Challa to life?

Bad. Ass. You San Diego Comic-Con goers can keep your surprise screenings and your exclusive reveals. We viewers at home have "Tron Legacy" footage and I, for one, am satisfied. And by "satisfied" I mean "my brain just overloaded after seeing the Kickass on display in this video."

It's not quite a trailer, what you see here. Disney has it labeled "Visual Effects Concept Test Footage." If memory serves, this is the revelatory footage screened at last year's Con, with lightcycle action and Jeff Bridges looking all mean and bearded. Remember to head over to MTV.com for more SDCC trailers and clips!

What do you think of the footage? Sound off in the comment section!

Sure, everyone's talking about the debut of War Machine in "Iron Man 2" right now, but fans know there's another important character making his big-screen bow in the Marvel movie universe soon. Sam Rockwell will bring Tony Stark's billionaire nemesis, Justin Hammer, to life in the much-anticipated sequel -- and Comic-Con attendees got their first look at Rockwell as Hammer during Saturday's panel.

We caught up with the actor to discuss his take on Hammer, and to find out if he's been reading the issue of "Iron Man" we gave him back in May.

"We're kind of reinventing the character of Justin Hammer a little bit," Rockwell told MTV News. "I walked into a lot of comic book shops and even some comic book store owners didn't know who he was. So, it's not as much pressure as playing Iron Man obviously, that's like playing Elvis Presley or something. With Justin Hammer is a little more elbow room for interpretation."

What do you think of Rockwell's thoughts on Justin Hammer? Let us know in the comment section!

With yesterday's announcement that War Machine will make his debut in "Iron Man 2," the question now becomes: how much of a role will the character play in the much-anticipated sequel?

We cornered actor Don Cheadle during an "Iron Man 2" press event to get his take on the character and how much of him we'll see in the Marvel Studios blockbuster.

"War Machine makes a very impactful appearance in the movie," Cheadle told MTV News. "It's significant."

As for how his character has changed since the first film (not to mention the actor playing James "Rhodey" Rhodes), Cheadle said the ramifications of Tony Stark's big reveal that he was Iron Man in the first film will be central theme of the sequel.

"It's gotten deeper, because in the first film Tony wasn't saying he was Iron Man," he said. "But now that he's embraced it, there's all this attendant problems, pressure and questions that all of the characters around him have to deal with."
