TwitterPrevious generations had to linger around artists alley tables to listen in on what their favorite creators were saying behind the scenes.

Today, we have Twitter, where they present everything from opinions between Cameron Stewart and Andy Diggle on trending motion comics to Punisher Photoshoppery gone bizarre thanks to Rick Remender and Chuck BB. (That's "FrankenQuesada" pictured here.)

Elsewhere, away from the hubbub, Chris Eliopoulos pondered where his trip to Disney's Animal Kingdom would fit in on his taxes next year, and Ben Templesmith tossed in his thoughts on Ted Kennedy. You can find it all below in the Twitter Report for August 27, 2009. Read More...

Iron ManTypically, the stuntman's role is to make the big action scenes look dangerously bad-ass, not to talk about the film itself. But "Iron Man 2" and "The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn" stunt choreographer Garrett Warren isn't your typical stuntman—he's got a whole lot to say, and comic book fans might want to listen up.

Warren spoke with Movieline about his work on both upcoming comic book films, which involved stuntwork on behalf of Mickey Rourke's villainous Whiplash in "Iron Man 2."

While many of his comments were innocent, some of them did reveal some interesting information about the whip-clad baddie. Read More...

Cam GigandetProduction on "Priest" has been ramping up lately with plenty of casting announcements, including the recent news that "True Blood" star Stephen Moyer would play a role in the film. Now, we're getting our first glimpse at two of the movie's main characters, including "Twilight" actor Cam Gigandet.

Gigandet and Paul Bettany both make their first appearances in a slew of set photographs from JFX Online. While the images reveal very little about the film's actual plot, they provide incredibly detailed looks at both characters and the types of clothing we can expect to see from them.

First up is Gigandet's character. Based on the information we know so far, Gigandet will not be playing a vampire, but rather a small town sheriff whose girlfriend has been abducted by a gang of vampires led by Black Hat, the villain played by Karl Urban. Based on these images, it certainly looks like Gigandet's getting into the law-enforcing groove. Read More...

Bradley CooperAlthough the coveted role of Hal Jordan in "Green Lantern" eventually went to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" star Ryan Reynolds, the occasional Deadpool had plenty of actors to compete with, including long-rumored frontrunner Bradley Cooper.

Now that Reynolds has officially been cast, Cooper felt free to speak about the missed opportunity and audition process for "Green Lantern" on last night's edition of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. The actor said that while he was grateful for the opportunity, Reynolds was a better fit for the role.

"I did get a chance to try out for it, which was amazing to even get a chance," Cooper told O'Brien. "Ryan Reynolds got it—who, by the way, if I was directing the movie, I would cast him. He's perfect. He actually looks like a superhero." Read More...

Those looking forward to Jonathan Mostow's big-screen adaptation of "The Surrogates" starring Bruce Willis will want to check out the new set of images and Breaking Benjamin music video released by Touchstone Pictures this week.

The new images provide a few fresh peeks at the live-action adaptation of Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele's science-fiction series, while the video for Breaking Benjamin's track "I Will Not Bow" (which appears on the "Surrogates" soundtrack) provides a heap of new footage from the film. In fact, there's so much to see in the video that a SPOILER WARNING could be necessary. Check it out:

Sure, that was a lot to digest, but don't forget about the new images, too! Read More...

SpeedyEven though Justin Hartley's take on Green Arrow hasn't ever gotten around to spinning off into a separate series, the emerald archer's world continues to expand within the boundaries of "Smallville."

Joining the ranks of Metallo, Zod and perhaps even the Wonder Twins for a Season Nine appearance, a version of Green Arrow's sidekick Speedy could be making her "Smallville" debut in the November episode "Crossfire."

According to Kryptonsite, this Speedy could be the female version of the archer's apprentice, Mia Dearden, rather than Oliver Queen's first partner, Roy Harper. Read More...

HerbieTHE STORY: "Herbie" by Shane O' Shea (W) and Ogden Whitney (A)

WHAT IT'S ABOUT: Herbie Popnecker may have come from a clean-cut household straight out of the family living rooms of "Mad Men," but the portly young boy refuses to answer his father's calls to become a productive member of society—that is, at least while his father is watching. Herbie wears a belt full of lollipops, which endow him with superpowers. He also dons a plunger-capped hero's suit that transforms him into a crusader called "The Fat Fury."

WHY IT WORKS: If you think Don Draper has to lead a double life, take a gander at the feats that Herbie has to pull off—in one scene taking verbal lashes from his enraged dad, then quickly walking across the sky to go save the United Kingdom from the Loch Ness Monster at the behest of Winston Churchill. He's an international superhero with the respect of the world, but not his own flesh and blood. He's a proud symbol of hope for "Superbad"-style geeks everywhere with the added flair of candy-coated power-ups. Read More...

WhiteoutIt's a good time to be Greg Rucka right about now, and an even better time to be a fan of the acclaimed writer. In addition to the newly announced "Queen & Country" film in development, Rucka's creator-owned "Whiteout," co-created and illustrated by Steve Lieber, is finally coming to the big screen in a few weeks.

In anticipation of the theatrical debut for "Whiteout" on September 11, Warner Bros. has released a gallery of images from the Antarctica-set thriller.

"Whiteout" stars Kate Beckinsale and Gabriel Macht, two faces that are hardly unfamiliar to the comic book world. Read More...

Earlier today we asked you where the "Batman 3" casting rumor that put Megan Fox in the role of Catwoman ranked with all of the other rumors surrounding the third installment of Christopher Nolan's Bat-film franchise.

While the casting is extremely unlikely at this point (seeing as how there are still questions about whether we'll even see a third "Batman" film from Nolan), we thought it would be fun to play the "What If?" game and find out what it would look like if Fox did indeed play Batman's feline-fixated nemesis.

Click on the image below for a small gallery of photos we've altered to depict Megan Fox as Catwoman, then decide for yourself if this is the sort of outrageous rumor you wish was true.

Battling BoyScreenwriter Alex Tse already adapted the graphic novel to end all graphic novels with Zack Snyder's "Watchmen." Tse's next announced comics-related project will be a big-screen version of Paul Pope's unreleased First Second Books story "Battling Boy," and he's eager to see the project through to the theaters. In stark contract to his previous film, where original writer Alan Moore was vocally uninvolved, Tse will be collaborating with Pope, which has him energized.

"It’s been an interesting and fun process to work with Paul Pope," Tse told ScriptPhD.

Tse also has the unique task of bringing a book to life that has yet to be completed by its original author, a detail that he is keenly aware of. Read More...
