TwitterComics creators inside and outside of the Marvel offices have been tweeting about their experiences with "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2," which hit shelves this week—though at least one is still waiting on his copy in the mail. Still, others are still trying to make it to the end of "The Beatles: Rock Band," and one notable publisher has reversed his initial cold welcome for the game.

All of those posts, as well as Mike Norton's words of comfort following the death of Patrick Swayze, James Robinson on Kanye West and a Ben Templesmith's new idea that shouldn't surprise anyone can be found below.

It's all in the Twitter Report for September 16, 2009. Read More...

FROM MULTIPLAYER: "Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2" is the most polished and enjoyable game the franchise has seen so far (including the "X-Men Legends" titles), but does it do enough to elevate itself in the increasingly crowded holiday marketplace?

The Basics: Set during the Civil War storyline, "Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2" sees the Marvel super hero community suffer a rift. Apparently there's some disagreement over whether super heroes should be forced to register with the government. The pro-registration heroes, led by Iron Man, end up going to war with the anti-registration heroes, led by Captain America, and in the end, it's the world's population that suffers.

Kick-AssWhen "Kick-Ass" premieres on April 13, audiences will not only be seeing one of the year's most-anticipated comic book movies, but they could also get the first look at what's in store "Kick-Ass 2."

The "Kick-Ass" sequel that writer Mark Millar said would begin shooting within two years already has a premise, and he says there will "definitely" be a follow-up. Though it's unknown whether Matthew Vaughn will return to direct or Marvel Entertainment's new Disney owners would distribute a sequel instead of Lionsgate, the miniseries' creator remains certain that "Kick-Ass 2" will happen.

"There's a basic plot," Millar told MTV News. "The series ends on a teaser for the next one, and the movie ends on that teaser, too." Read More...

"Solomon Kane," the upcoming live-action film based on the evil-vanquishing adventures of Robert E. Howard's pulp-era hero, has received a fair share of buzz lately due to a well-received screening of footage during Comic-Con in San Diego. Thanks to a recent comic book series authored by Dark Horse Comics editor Scott Allie and a run of comics published by Marvel in the 1970s and '80s, the puritanical swordsman has a long history in the comics world—and if all goes as planned, it could have a long life on the big screen, too.

Starring James Purefoy and is written/directed by Michael J. Bassett, "Solomon Kane" will premiere Wednesday, September 16, at the Toronto International Film Festival. Check out an exclusive featurette from the film here on Splash Page:

During our subsequent interview with DC Entertainment's new president, Diane Nelson, we gave you the scoop on where the company plans to go from here, where they're focusing their attention, and even a well-known character they're not focusing on right now. We also offered up a list of superhero projects we think WB and the new DC division should be focusing on first, and why they're so important to DC's growth in the movie world.

Now, it's your turn. We want to know which DC superhero properties you think are the most important to the company's growth in Hollywood. Should Superman be put on the fast-track, or should they go down roads less traveled? Is a "Doom Patrol" movie a must-have project, or should someone get "Justice League" rolling again? Sound off! Sabretooth - WolverineOne of director Gavin Hood's last decisions while editing "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" involved cutting a scene in which Wolverine chose to have his memory completely wiped. However, audiences can evaluate the scene themselves today on Blu-ray and DVD, and Hood believes that its greatest impact is to humanize Victor Creed as he watches his brother choose to forget him.

"[Wolverine's] brother, played by Liev Schrieber, says to Stryker, ‘Will he remember me?’ and there’s a tremendous moment of vulnerability where Stryker looks at him as if he’s crazy and says, ‘No, of course not,’" Hood told MTV News. "Then Victor Creed says, 'Then let him go,' which is beautiful."

Hood pins that reaction to Creed's pent-up need to maintain a relationship with Logan, even if it's a violent one. Read More...
