The Losers"Smallville" will be getting a new injection of cast members with Stargirl, Hawkman and Doctor Fate joining the show, and Geoff Johns tweeted a few details last night that viewers will want to know—like whether Hawkman will have wings and how he and Green Arrow will get along.

Elsewhere, dedicated tweeter Andy Diggle slipped Jock a link to the artist's newly released "Losers" poster and Brian Keene pondered a pitch for Batman's pet, Ace the Bat-Hound.

Read on to check out each of those tweets, along with what Matt Fraction thinks Tony Stark should carry with him in case of near death. It's all in the Twitter Report for October 20, 2009. Read More...

We always try to find out about celebrities' comics savvy when they drop by MTV HQ, and it was no different when "House M.D." actress Olivia Wilde dropped by to promote her role on the television series and the upcoming "Tron Legacy" movie. Voted the "Hottest Woman in the World" by Maxim Magazine, Wilde didn't do anything to shake off that title when she stopped to chat about the geekery she spotted around my desk (a.k.a. Splash Page HQ) on her way out of the newsroom.

While she certainly doesn't drop by her local comics shop each week, she did have a fun story about her earliest comics-related memory: a fascination with Wonder Woman fed by the presence of the real-life Wonder Woman, Linda Carter, in her neighborhood.

"When I was little, I wanted to be Wonder Woman," Wilde told MTV News. "And the real Wonder Woman lived on our block. So I used to go and knock on her door in my Wonder Woman costume with the cuffs and the boots, and hope that she would recognize that I was her protege and bring me up as Wonder Girl." Read More...

James Preston RogersThe poll results are arriving a day late this week due to yesterday's glut of comic book movie news, but we're not ones to complain about a good thing when it comes to updates on projects like "Thor," "Iron Man 2" and "Spider-Man 4." However, it's an entirely different sort of comic book movie that we asked fans to cast last week—and much like our Wonder Woman poll from a while back, the winner of our "Lobo" casting poll has a loyal fan following that played no small part in determining the winner.

In the end, former "Thor" hopeful James Preston Rogers was named MTV readers' favorite choice for the role of DC's Main Man, Lobo. The musclebound actor is probably best known for his role as a hulking barbarian in the vikings-vs-aliens film "Outlander," but he was also the subject of an extremely active fan campaign to cast him in the lead role for Kenneth Branagh's "Thor." And based on looks alone, he seems a good fit for the blue-skinned bounty hunter. Read More...

Green LanternThe color green turned on Hal Jordan recently when "Green Lantern" had to pull out of its Australian shooting locations due to economic issues—but it appears that a new location may already be locked in for the DC Comics adaptation, and it's not Mexico as some had guessed.

According to The Times-Picayune, "Green Lantern" could very well lens in New Orleans, Louisiana. The manager of studio operations at the New Orleans-based Second Line Stages reported that producers for "Green Lantern" have contacted him about the studio space, and that "'Green Lantern' production offices could be set up in town as early as this week."

If the move pans out, it's great to hear that "Green Lantern" has already bounced back with a new location. Still, that's not the only interesting bit of news buried in the Times-Picayune's article, which posits an interesting rumor about DC's on-screen plans for a "Justice League" movie. Read More...

Karl UrbanThe Hollywood vampire craze is leaking into comic book territory with the upcoming movie "Priest," an adaptation of the popular manga series. The film already has "Twilight" and "True Blood" credibility thanks to performances from Cam Gigandet and Stephen Moyer, but there's a sci-fi veteran is bringing a little bit of space into the movie as well.

Karl Urban, who played Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy in J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" last summer, is set for the villainous role of Black Hat, the leader of a pack of vampires that abduct the niece of the titular warrior priest and vampire hunter played by Paul Bettany.

Urban spoke out about his involvement in the film during a recent interview with Collider, describing the film as a mixture of all sorts of genres. Read More...

DeadpoolDeadpool himself is an anti-hero at best, so trying to come up with an appropriate villain for the Merc with a Mouth to square off against in his upcoming solo feature is an understandable challenge for the folks at Fox—but that doesn't mean they don't have some ideas.

In an interview with Empire Online, producer Lauren Shuler Donner spoke about Fox's plans for the "Deadpool" film, which she confirmed would be completely different than the version of the character seen in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

Donner said that there are plenty of villains that could wind up in Deadpool—including Black Tom, Slayback and the Weasel—but the one she sounded the most interested in is none other than Blind Al, an elderly woman that Wade Wilson keeps locked up at home. Read More...

Anyone who follows Splash Page on Twitter is already aware that one of the chief architects of the Marvel Universe, Brian Bendis, dropped by MTV HQ last week. My conversation with Bendis covered a wide variety of topics, including the just-announced "Ultimate Enemy" event he's scripting with artist Rafa Sandoval.

Along with revealing some details about the shape "Ultimate Enemy" will take when it kicks off in January, Bendis also offered up his take on where the event will leave Marvel's Ultimate universe, and who the major players will be in the miniseries. Read More...

Batman & RobinNewsflash: 1997's "Batman & Robin" might be the most important film that the comic book movie genre has ever seen.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger—those words are coming straight from the mouth of Marvel Studios bigwig Kevin Feige.

The LA Times recently reviewed the career of Akiva Goldsman, the producer-director-writer with involvement in comic book properties such as "Jonah Hex," "The Losers" and—that's right—"Batman & Robin," the George Clooney-starring film that nearly destroyed the superhero movie genre in the late 1990s.

But Feige, one of the many creative minds behind "Iron Man" and the newly reinvigorated Marvel Studios lineup, said that the current renaissance of comic book movies wouldn't be possible without the widespread critical failure of "Batman & Robin." Read More...

When we spoke to Stan Lee during this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego, the conversation naturally turned to his cameos in the Marvel movies. One of the industry's living legends, Lee has proudly appeared in just about every movie featuring Marvel characters that's hit the screen.

While Lee wasn't certain he could talk about the cameo at the time, the news appears to have hit the 'Net this weekend—so we're thrilled to finally be able to show this portion of our interview with Stan "The Man" Lee. Excelsior!

"For some reason, they wanted me to wear suspenders and heavy glasses, and they treated me as though I was Larry King," Lee told MTV News of the character he'll play in "Iron Man 2." "So I finally, for the first time in my life, felt like I was a celebrity." Read More...
