While Jason Schwartzman's once-secret role as Gideon Graves in "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" has been confirmed for quite a while now, that's pretty much the only secret that's been revealed when it comes to Edgar Wright's live-action adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's comic book series. Little is known about the look and tone of the film, but what fans have been able to glean from Wright and his cast has been promising.

Take, for example, our recent chat with Schwartzman during the "Fantastic Mr. Fox" junket. Not only has he seen the first 20 minutes of "Scott Pilgrim," but he shared some thoughts with MTV News about how the footage looked.

"I saw the first 20 minutes of it and I'm very proud to be a part of it," said Schwartzman. "It's unlike anything I've seen in my entire life." Read More...

AvatarStan Lee may be done with his "Iron Man 2" cameo, but "Thor" still awaits. He tweeted about his high expectations last night, including what it will take to get him to Asgard.

Meanwhile at the Marvel offices in New York, editor Axel Alonso posted a behind-the-scenes look at what you can expect to see in a bathroom there. After the jump, there's also Dennis Calero's design obervation about James Cameron's "Avatar," Edgar Wright's early memories of "Labyrinth" and Tony Harris on wrapping up "Ex Machina."

It's all in the Twitter Report for November 12, 2009. Read More...

Lady DeadpoolRyan Reynolds might have played Deadpool in the "Wolverine" movie and the upcoming "Deadpool" solo film, but we're pretty sure there's one version of Marvel's mouthy mercenary he won't bring to the big screen (well, pretty sure, at least): Lady Deadpool.

In January's issue of "Deadpool: Merc With A Mouth," readers will be introduced to a different sort of Deadpool (quite a few of 'em, in fact), and Marvel's released a new cover to commemorate the merc's newfound, well... lady parts. The new cover was created by Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld, with an alternate cover (posted below) by "Marvel Zombies" cover artist Arthur Suydam. Read More...

Kevin SpaceyKevin Spacey announced in 2008 that he and his Trigger Street Productions partner Dana Brunetti were going to start looking at comics. The company, which has helped bring films like "Fanboys" and next year's Facebook-based "The Social Network" to life, opened up a section of TriggerStreet.com to aspiring comics creators looking for feedback—but hasn't yet announced plans to produce anything of their own.

Spacey and Brunetti predicted things to come in 2010, though, and commented on their relationship with Devil's Due Publishing.

"You can say that there are things that are brewing." Spacey told MTV News. Read More...

The PrisonerWith AMC's much-anticipated remake of "The Prisoner" premiering this weekend, the network has launched an online comic that promises to explore the secrets of the mysterious Village from the perspective of a new character.

While the looming debut of the miniseries has us all pretty intrigued around Splash Page HQ (we're big fans of the original 1960s series it's based on, and even bigger fans of the new series' stars, Sir Ian McKellen and Jim Caviezel), comic fans should take note of the online comic for more reasons than just its existence. The visuals for the online comic were provided by fan-favorite comic book artist Mitchell Breitweiser ("Captain America").

"The Prisoner" miniseries hits AMC November 15, but the first chapter of the online comic is live now. According to AMC, the plan is for the comic to span 10 chapters, with the next one arriving online after the finale of the TV miniseries on November 17.

ThorMarvel Studios’ highly anticipated “Thor” adaptation is finally set to go before the cameras in January.

Principal photography will begin in Los Angeles before moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico, in March according to a report from Production Weekly.

Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore and Stellan Skarsgard have also been cast in presently unspecified roles. Read More...

SmallvilleCan Jon Favreau's reality-based "Iron Man" share the same universe as Kenneth Branagh's fantasy-focused "Thor"? What about the space-faring "Green Lantern" film and Christopher Nolan's gritty take on Batman?

These are valid concerns both for fans and movie executives as Marvel Studios and DC Entertainment plan live-action adaptations of "The Avengers" and "Justice League," respectively.

While they're difficult questions to tackle, some hint at the answers could lie in an installment of the television series "Smallville" (titled "Hex") which debuted last season. In "Hex," the powerful magician Zatanna interacts not only with the super-powerful Clark Kent, but also with Green Arrow, a street-level vigilante with no superpowers to speak of.

MTV News spoke with "Hex" writer Bryan Q. Miller (the new writer of DC's "Batgirl" series) to get his take on how to integrate magically-gifted characters into a live-action comic book world. Read More...

RedThe adaptation of Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner’s “Red” could be adding some additional Hollywood star power to its already impressive cast with Julian McMahon, Ernest Borgnine, Richard Dreyfuss and Brian Cox.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, McMahon would portray the Vice President who is at the center of the conspiracy to kill a former CIA agent (played by Bruce Willis). Borgnine would be the keeper of the CIA’s darkest secrets while Dreyfuss is up for the role of a wealthy man who made his fortune on government contracts. Cox would be a former Cold War spy and a rival to Willis’ character.

Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, John C. Reilly and Mary-Louise Parker have already been cast in “Red” or are also in negotiations to sign up. Read More...

Black CatBased on the latest superhero movie rumors making the rounds, it looks like I caught the wrong cat last week. Speculation is running rampant that Peter Parker will go web-to-claw against Black Cat in "Spider-Man 4," with "Wedding Crashers" leading lady Rachel McAdams a supposed frontrunner for the role.

Black Cat's involvement in the superhero sequel is still not official—indeed, Splash Page editor Rick Marshall had his own anonymously-sourced scoop on who the "Spider-Man 4" villain could be—but given the tenacity of these rumors, I feel compelled to weigh in just in case Felicia Hardy winds up terrorizing Pete's next big screen adventure. Much like yesterday's "Clash of the Titans" trailer, this new "Ninja Assassin" clip has nothing to do with comics—though I'm sure I could find a connection if I really tried. What it does have, however, is a bunch of bad-ass ninja-on-ninja action. Along with Korean pop sensation Rain in a starring role, "Ninja assassin" also features one of the greatest ninja-movie actors of all time: Sho Kosugi ("Enter the Ninja," "Revenge of the Ninja," "Nine Deaths of the Ninja").

"Ninja Assassin" is directed by James McTeigue ("V For Vendetta"—see, there's a comic connection!) and hits theaters November 25.
