"Judge Dredd" is still moving forward, according to Jock's tweets today. That new "Judge Dredd" fan film that he mentioned last week got a few other creators tweeting today, including PJ Holden and Dwight MacPherson, who launched jabs at the Stallone incarnation.
Elsewhere in the comics Twittersphere over the weekend, Rob Liefeld posted a video of his sons checking out "Image United" to see how his old characters would play to a younger generation, proving both that his sons share his enthusiasm for superheroes and that they would definitely buy an Overtkill series. "FoxTrot" creator Bill Amend, meanwhile, was watching his own son play "Assassin's Creed 2." Find how how that experience has shaped his perspective on "World of Warcraft," along with what Todd McFarlane's been working on and what Tim Seeley thought of the cosplay at Daisho Con in Wisconsin. It's all in the Twitter Report for November 23, 2009. Read more...

Talking with Stan Lee is always a treat, and our recent conversation about his old-school approach to Twitter, his "Thor" cameo and various other topics was no exception. However, near the end of my conversation with the co-creator of some of comics' most popular characters, I had to ask: With Thanksgiving approaching, what was Stan Lee thankful for this year?
Lee's answer offered a much quieter, contemplative side of the man who helped bring Spider-Man, the X-Men, and so many other superheroes to life. Read more...

Composer Danny Elfman has provided the distinctive musical theme for Tim Burton's "Batman" films as well as a host of other television and movie projects, so when we caught up with him at the red carpet preview of Burton's new exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, we had to ask: will he be returning to the Spidey movie team when "Spider-Man 4" comes around?
"Who knows?" smiled Elfman, who re-teamed with director Sam Raimi to compose 2007's "Spider-Man 3" theme. Read more...

If you ever thought 1990's live-action "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie really could've used more gritty, pulp-era crime flavor and snappy dialogue, you're in luck.
YouTube User withonea has posted a mash-up trailer for "Reservoir Turtles," a fan-made preview that combines scenes from Leonardo, Donatello and pals' big-screen debut with audio from Quentin Tarantino's slick 1992 film "Reservoir Dogs." And while the combination might seem incompatible at first, the two films actually blend quite nicely, with the entire crew of mask-wearing characters believably voicing the argument over who gets named "Mr. Pink."
Oh, and Leonardo telling Donatello to cut off an uncooperative victim's finger? Priceless. Read more...

Fans at next year’s San Diego Comic-Con International may get the first opportunity to see what Guy Ritchie’s big screen adaptation of “Lobo” will look like. Producer Joel Silver has revealed that a “Lobo” test was recently filmed with the annual pop culture event in mind.
“We’re working on ‘Lobo’ now,” said Silver during an interview with Collider. “I was looking at a test we made and I was seeing it through the eyes of [the San Diego] Comic-Con — through the eyes of that audience. It’s important to know that that audience is the biggest in the world. That’s the audience that you want to get.” Read more...

Natalie Portman has a lot to look forward to in Kenneth Branagh's "Thor" film, which she's scheduled to begin production on soon as Jane Foster. Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba and Chris Hemsworth are all confirmed to be starring at her side, but Portman dropped a potential casting bombshell this weekend while promoting her new film "Brothers." "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" star Kat Dennings may have a role in "Thor" as well.
"Well I'm really excited," Portman told MTV News. "Kat Dennings is going to be in it with me and she's a good friend and an amazing actress, so I'm looking forward to that." Read more...

“The Goon” creator Eric Powell has revealed that he has finished the script for the upcoming CG animated film for director David Fincher and Blur Studios.
"I just finished writing the script a few months back, and Blur is working on a lot of test stuff," Powell explained in an interview with Comic Book Resources. “Fincher is working on a film right now, so we're waiting for him to get some space so we can start showing some of this stuff off. I'm pretty happy with everything so far. We've just got to work to get to the next point. This is a slow, long process."
However, Powell was unable to say whether Fincher would direct “The Goon” or take on the role of a producer. "David's going to be heavily involved,” Powell said. “I've worked with him and Blur quite a bit to get the screenplay together, and it's been a great experience so far." Read more...

Robert E. Howard’s “Kull" may get another chance to conquer the silver screen.
According to a report on Fantasy.fr, Paradox Entertainment CEO Fredrik Malmberg has confirmed that a new adaptation of “Kull The Conqueror” is in the works. Paradox is also producing a new “Conan” film, based on Howard’s more famous creation.
