Alien LegionThe classic military sci-fi comic “Alien Legion” is moving forward as a film adaptation over at Disney with producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

"Alien Legion has been optioned for some time," confirmed “Alien Legion” co-creator Carl Potts in an interview with USA Today. "The script is currently in its third rewrite."

"Bruckheimer's never done a science-fiction [movie] before,” Potts continued. “So that challenge, I think, is something that would hold his interest. The success they've had with blending CGI and live-action characters in ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean’ series could translate easily to an ‘Alien Legion’ film." Read More...

Director John Woo has proven his eye for action with films like "Face/Off" and "The Killer," so when he dropped by Splash Page HQ to discuss his upcoming film "Red Cliff," we had to ask why he hasn't stepped behind the camera for an action-packed superhero movie yet. After clearing up his attachment to "Caliber," the Radical Comics series we spoke to creator Sam Sarkar about earlier this year, Woo offered up some thoughts on why superheroes aren't really his thing.

"It didn't work out because it's not good timing for me to take on the movie," said Woo, confirming he's no longer attached to an adaptation of the Arthurian saga set in the Wild West.

ThorThe Warriors Three may be joining Anthony Hopkins as Odin in Kenneth Branagh's "Thor," but at least one writer would rather have seen Sean Connery play the Allfather.

Elsewhere, big names in comics turned out for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" last night, including Kevin Smith, who compared his daughter's relationship with the franchise to his own experience with "Star Wars." Far more comics faces were gathered in New York, though, for the Spider-Man summit Fred Van Lente tweeted about yesterday. Dan Slott posted a pic from the group's Marvel-funded dinner. Check that out after the jump along with Gail Simone's first tweet from her Xbox 360, Steve Niles' reaction to last night's meteor shower and Matthew Sturges' Imogen Heap dilemma.

It's all in the Twitter Report for November 17, 2009. Read More...

Anyone following Splash Page (or me) on Twitter is probably well aware that martial arts champion and movie/television star Chuck Norris recently paid a visit to Splash Page HQ to chat about his new book, "The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book." Heck, it was all I could talk about for 24-36 hours. (I'm kind of a big fan.)

While Norris offered up some great stories about his first reaction to the online phenomenon known as "Chuck Norris Facts" and the stories from his life he's collected in the book to go along with many of the facts, one of my favorite moments from the very funny interview had to be when I gave Norris the ol' rapid-fire "confirm or deny" for some of the "facts" readers wanted me to ask him about.

Keep an eye on Splash Page and Movies Blog for more from my interview with Chuck Norris — including some thoughts on the Karate Kommandos! (Seriously!)

The Red MistAs comic book readers are already well aware, the titular hero of the upcoming "Kick-Ass," is in for some serious hurt come the film's April 16 release date, but the jury is still out on just what's in store for his crimson-clad compatriot The Red Mist.

Played by actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse, The Red Mist is a very different beast from his crime fighting forebearer, with a more prominent mane, a glammed-out look, an actual set of wheels and, well, a penchant for partaking in the occasional illegal substance.

"My character is very more out there, very open with smoking weed and is like, 'let's go out there and fight crime!' and Kick-Ass is very aware of what's going on around him," Mintz-Plasse explained to MTV News. Read More...

Michael Shanks - HawkmanAs the highly anticipated Justice Society two-part episode of “Smallville” gets ready to go in front of the cameras, newly cast Hawkman actor Michael Shanks has revealed the first look at his character, some intriguing details about his origin and this incarnation of the JSA.

“When we first meet Carter Hall, he’s in his museum," Shanks told TV Guide. "We’ll learn he’s a reincarnated prince from a thousand years ago. There is a reference to The Justice Society’s time in the ‘70s, but we have since disbanded.”

“When we first see him, he is a shell of his former self with [an air] of cynicism,” continued Shanks. “He wears a lot of grief and guilt and pain over what happened to his friends and the society as a whole and his failures in letting that happen.” Read More...

Rachel McAdamsThe rumor of "Spider-Man 4" sporting Black Cat as the film's nemesis might have nine lives, but it looks like luck has ran out for supporters of Rachel McAdams, the alleged frontrunner for the role.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McAdams flat-out denied last week's wide-spread "Spider-Man 4" rumors that she was not only a contender for the role of Felicia Hardy in the "Spider-Man" sequel, but that she was nearly a lock for the part. According to McAdams herself, those reports are entirely unfounded.

"That's a total rumor, I have to say," said McAdams. "I was hanging out in Toronto the other day and someone came up to me and said, 'I just heard you're doing Spider-Man 4.' And I said, 'Really? No one told me! It's not true." Read More...

The Warriors ThreeThe Warriors Three, a trio of Asgardians that join the God of Thunder's cause in "Thor," have officially been cast — depending on where you get your news, that is.

Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano and Stuart Townsend have reportedly landed the roles of Volstagg the Valiant, Hogun the Grim and Fandral the Dashing in "Thor," Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of the classic Marvel character. But some are already doubting the news, given the fact that the initial Variety report has been removed from the website.

[UPDATE: Marvel.com has confirmed the casting of Stevenson, Asano and Townsend.]

Kate BeckinsaleLast week, we asked you which actress you'd like to see slip into a catsuit to play Batman's feline-fixated nemesis, Catwoman — and now the votes are in!

Buffy the Vampire SlayerJoss Whedon fans distraught over the recent cancellation of "Dollhouse" might find a silver lining in at least one piece of news today. It appears that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" could find new life above and beyond Dark Horse Comics' well-received "Buffy" comic book series, as a casting notice recently popped up online for a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" motion comic.

Over at SciFi Wire, they've posted the full breakdown of voiceover casting calls for the "Buffy" motion comic, which offers a nice indication of which characters fans can expect to see in the series. Among the notables are slayers Faith, Robin Wood and Kennedy, as well as "big bad" villain Twilight. Curiously, there's also a call for a voice actor who sounds like current James Bond actor Daniel Craig. Read More...
