This week, comics icon Stan Lee takes center stage in a new episode of "Marvel Super Hero Squad," the animated series featuring uber-cute versions of popular Marvel Comics characters who fight for control of the powerful "Infinity Fractals" in Superhero City and Villainville.
Lee's character in the series, The Mayor, is the elected leader of Superhero City — but his term ends when the villainous Egghead rigs the election in Saturday's episode (airing December 26).
Read on for what Lee had to say about the episode, as well as your first look at some new images from the upcoming episode of "Marvel Super Hero Squad."
"They've finally given me a little bit of authority," laughed Lee. "I'm the mayor of Superhero City and you better treat me with the proper respect."
"I actually lose the election," he revealed. "A villain named Egghead wins the election by doing a lot of illegal villainous things, and it's pretty heavy dramatically ... I almost get choked up when I have to describe this."
But lest you think Lee doesn't come out on top of this tale, he shared some details that should reassure anyone hoping to see more of the Superhero City mayor — and revealed how the episode will let him live out a personal dream.
"I don't want you to worry, because it has a happy ending," he said. "I commandeer Iron Man's armor, and in that armor, I save the city."
"I have finally become the superhero that I was destined to be," Lee laughed.
Now check out some photos from the upcoming episode, which airs Saturday, December 26.
