Could the death of Brittany Murphy this weekend have big implications for "Sin City 2"? While it might seem unlikely given the brief screen time of Murphy's character, Shellie, in the 2005 Robert Rodriguez film based on Frank Miller's gritty comic book series, her presence throughout many of Miller's "Sin City" tales is certainly hard to ignore.
Like many of the characters in Miller's "Sin City" stories, Shellie not only had a significant role in the story "The Big Fat Kill," but also appeared in two other narratives used in the film: "That Yellow Bastard" and "The Hard Goodbye." However, the character also appears in "A Dame To Kill For," the story which Rodriguez and various other sources have claimed will provide one of the major arcs in "Sin City 2."

Next year's big-screen reboot of the "A-Team" will be one of many films receiving some attention from the comic book world in advance of its arrival in theaters. IDW Publishing will be launching not one, but two series following Hannibal, B.A. Baracus and the rest of their mercenary crew.
Titled "The A-Team: Shotgun Wedding" and "The A-Team: War Stories," the two series will not only feature the beloved television series' characters (in the likenesses of the new actors playing them), but also offer up some brand new stories of their adventures.
IDW has offered Splash Page readers the first peek at some early art from "The A-Team: Shotgun Wedding," written by Joe Carnahan and Tom Waltz with art from Stephen Mooney — including the ridiculously cool covers to the first and second issues, as well as several inked pages.

Despite recent reports that Frank Miller’s “Sin City 2” is fully on track to begin production next year, director Robert Rodriguez recently indicated that that filming may not start as soon as we expected.
“I can't say no, because I don't know it's no,” said Rodriguez when asked about the status of “Sin City 2” during an interview with ComingSoon.net. “I know Frank wants to do it. I know I want to do it. It's always sort of a 'time permitting' kind of thing. But it's not like I can tell you definitely we're starting . It's not my next picture, I know that. It doesn't mean that it's not the picture right after 'cause that's still a possibility.”

Actress Brittany Murphy, who played Shellie in "Sin City," died Sunday at age 32.
Also known for roles in "Clueless" and "8 Mile," Murphy played a waitress at Kadie's in the chapter of "Sin City" titled "The Big Fat Kill," based on the 1994-1995 Frank Miller miniseries. Her character's problems with a drunken, abusive ex-boyfriend (played by Benicio del Toro) are solved by Dwight (Clive Owen) — only to have the situation escalate into a full-scale war between the police, the mob and the inhabitants of Old Town.
Keep it locked to Splash Page and MTV.com for more on Murphy's life and passing, as well as what it could mean for the "Sin City" movie franchise.

Between new character posters, movie clips and the approaching series-concluding release of the comic book source material's 8th issue, fans have plenty of reason to wonder if the pre-release buzz for Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.'s "Kick-Ass," could already amount to a second helping of costumed vigilante brutality. Now, Millar's begun projecting the series' pending publishing schedule for 2010 and beyond.
While discussing the upcoming "Kick-Ass: Creating the Comic, Making the Movie" book set to arrive in stores on February 23 from Titan Books, Millar clarified his vision for the franchise, even before it saw print.
"We always saw this as at least a trilogy. There might even be more. I had the whole second series worked out two years ago," Millar told Comic Book Resources.
