TwitterBrian Michael Bendis wasn't the only one getting psyched up for a Marvel Comics retreat yesterday. Both Fred Van Lente and Jonathan Hickman mulled over the event on their own Twitter accounts -- and it looks like they've made theirs Marvel instead of President Obama's State of the Union Address.

The mysterious Apple tablet continued to trend as mightily as ever over the past 24 hours in the Twitterverse. Rob Liefeld wants one, Jon Rosenberg has a few demands and Ryan Stegman thinks he knows what Steve Jobs does when he's alone. All of those retweets and links appear after the jump with Greg Rucka pleased reaction to "Mass Effect 2" and a snapshot from Brett Ratner. Together, they form the Twitter Report for January 27, 2010.

Moreso than most movies, "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" has us feeling terribly conflicted. On one hand, we're such fans of the source material for Edgar Wright's adaptation that we're eager to know as much as possible (and as soon as possible) about how it's being brought to life on the screen. On the other hand, we don't want to ruin the surprises Wright has planned for us.

That's why we can't help but ask the "Scott Pilgrim" cast about the film whenever we get a chance — and to be honest, we're kind of relieved when they don't give away too much about the film. Take, for example, our recent conversation with actress Anna Kendrick, who plays Stacey Pilgrim:

"I've seen it. It's awesome," said Kendrick when asked if she's been one of the lucky few to have screened the film. "There's nothing to compare it to. It's like the energy from 'Ferris Bueller' and the action from 'Kill Bill.' It's amazing."

What do you think of Kendrick's description? Let us know in the comment section or on Twitter!

Edward NortonWhen MTV News previously spoke with "Incredible Hulk" director Louis Leterrier, he expressed some concerns about rumors that Bruce Banner's brutish alter ego could be the villain in Marvel's superhero team-up film, "The Avengers." However, the biggest question mark involving the green goliath could be the return of the film's star, Edward Norton.

While Norton has said he likes the idea of Hulk being the threat that unites Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, he's been far less vocal about the likelihood that he'll reprise his role as Bruce Banner.

That's why, when we had the chance to chat with Leterrier about Hulk's big-screen future, we had to ask his opinion on what it would take to bring Norton back for another adventure as Bruce Banner. Read More...

LoboGuy Ritchie is leaving the main man for another man by pursuing a "Sherlock Holmes" sequel instead of his planned "Lobo" adaptation.

According to Hero Complex, Ritchie has cleared his schedule to start preparing work on "Sherlock Holmes 2" for Warner Bros., meaning that his attachment to "Lobo" is no longer a certainty.

"I don't think he's going to do ['Lobo']," said Joel Silver, who is a producer on both "Lobo" and "Holmes." "The studio wants us and Guy to focus on making another 'Sherlock Holmes.' So I think we're going to be doing that." Read More...

Matthew Bomer is currently impressing audiences as conman-turned-FBI agent Neal Caffery in the "White Collar" television series, but there was a time not too long ago when he was primed to bring a far more familiar character to the big screen as the star of what eventually became "Superman Returns."

Before Bryan Singer took over "Superman Returns," Brett Ratner had been tagged as the project's director and cast Bomer as Kal-El. Ratner left the project in 2003, and the role of Superman was re-cast and given to Brandon Routh when Singer was named the new director. So, when Bomer dropped by MTV HQ to discuss "White Collar," we had to ask him what it was like to be Superman — even for just a little while.

"I actually screen-tested for Superman, and there was a time when Brett Ratner and I were going to work together on it," Bomer told MTV News. "That particular incarnation of that franchise sort of fell apart, and then it became a whole different beast." Read More...

Human TargetFor those who want more than just a weekly fix of "Human Target," Fox has launched a new online game based on the television series (which is based on the DC comic book series — but you already knew that).

The "Agent Training" game offers a bit of online, target-practice fun. In fact, it's sort of like those "punch the monkey and win an iPod" ads, minus the threat of computer-crippling spyware and unintentional trips to NSFW websites.

I managed to score a cool 19,925 points on the "Normal" difficulty level. How's your aim? Read More...

The Last AirbenderIt's been a long time since we've heard anything about "The Last Airbender," M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming adaptation of the massively popular anime/manga series. More than six months ago, the first "Airbender" trailer arrived online, and now with six months until the film's July premiere, we get a pair of cool new posters.

Each of the new images features one of the film's main characters — the last of the airbenders, Aang (played by Noah Ringer), and the film's firebending villain, Prince Zuko (played by "Slumdog Millionaire" actor Dev Patel).

SmallvilleOkay, I admit it — I haven't been watching "Smallville" lately. Much like "Heroes," I was addicted to the series early on, but eventually lost interest. However, the two-hour "Absolute Justice" arc seems like it might be the thing that brings me back to "Smallville."

Written by prolific comic creator Geoff Johns, "Absolute Justice" will feature the debut of one of my favorite superhero teams: The Justice Society of America. I've been hooked on the team since picking up Johns' "Black Reign" arc in the JSA comics, and the latest trailer for "Absolute Justice" offers some new looks at two of my favorite JSA members, Dr. Fate and Hawkman.

The new trailer is being aired in Canada, and also includes some appearances by Star Girl, Green Arrow, Icicle (at least, I think that's Icicle) and J'onn J'onzz (The Martian Manhunter). Read More...

TwitterThe Apple Tablet rumored to be announced at the company's press conference tomorrow has the attention of much of the comic book industry, and artist Mitch Breitweiser was the latest in the Twitter Report to add his thoughts to the mix.

And speaking of rumors, Frank Miller may or may not be on Twitter now. "The Spirit" movie producer F.J. DeSanto and "Fanboys" director Kyle Newman have lightly verified the account with their own tweets, but until he posts a picture or gets a Verified badge, I recommend caution. One more thing I recommend is picking up Cameron Stewart's first issue of "Batman & Robin" this week with Grant Morrison. I have high hopes for the arc, and there was a fun exchange between Stewart and Jason Aaron yesterday about what he would have drawn if the opportunity to work with Morrison hadn't come up.

Check that out after the jump along with the next Marvel event Brian Michael Bendis is excited about and Karl Kerschl's Scott Pilgrim theory. It's all part of a healthy Twitter Report for January 26, 2010. Read More...
