Legion"Legion" arrives in theaters today, but readers of the recent four-issue "Legion: Prophets" miniseries published by IDW already have a head start on the universe created by director Scott Stewart for the film.

While the film follows archangel Michael (played by Paul Bettany) as he attempts to prevent Armageddon by protecting a woman pregnant with humanity's last hope for survival, IDW's official prelude to "Legion" tells the tale of several ordinary people who suddenly find themselves thrust into the conflict between the angels and Earth.

As one of the co-writers of the miniseries (with Tom Waltz), Stewart took a significantly more prominent role in the comic tie-in than most filmmakers. He also took some time to explain to MTV News how the two projects connect, which elements of the comic find their way into the movie, and what movie fans will recognize in the comic. Read More...

Jay Leno - Spider-ManThe "Tonight Show" feud between Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno playing out on NBC over the last month has led to so much drama, comedy and bad feeling that it almost feels like the plot of a movie or television series... or even, dare we say, a comic book?

Yes, with both Leno and O'Brien each with a comics cameo on their resume, it seems logical to compare the two entertainers' brief stints in the Marvel and DC worlds, respectively.

With O'Brien's last "Tonight Show" airing, well... tonight... here's a look back at the interesting adventures these late-night hosts have had in the comic book world. Read More...

Jason MomoaThe search for Conan is over, as "Stargate Atlantis" star Jason Momoa has been cast as Robert E. Howard's famous Cimmerian warrior.

Deadline Hollywood reports that the previously rumored Momoa is in negotiations to star as Conan in Marcus Nispel's upcoming reinvention of the classic fantasy hero. The news couldn't come soon enough given the fact that production on "Conan" is slated to begin on March 15 in Bulgaria.

By securing the role of Conan, Momoa beat out rival competitor Kellan Lutz, the "Twilight" actor that confirmed his status as a "Conan" contender just last week. Read More...

So Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire are out as the twin big screen leaders of everyone's favorite web-slinging wonder boy and director Marc Webb has swooped in to reboot the venerated Marvel franchise. As this seismic shift in the comics landscape sinks in, it's not only fanboys and fangirls who are having to adjust to the prospects of a brand-new "Spider-Man." One star from the earlier pictures is a little distressed about the fresh lineup.

"I guess I'm a little sad for Sam and Tobey," said James Franco, who played Harry Osborn in all three Raimi-directed flicks, when MTV News caught up with him at the Sundance premiere of "Howl." "I think they were a really good team. I think Sam invested so much of himself in that and he had the perfect connection to that character and that franchise and that world. He was doing probably his best work. I'm sad for both of them that they won't get to continue to do that. And Tobey I think was an excellent Peter Parker." Read More...

Edgar WrightWe received our first official look at Edgar Wright's "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" earlier this month, and for many fans (us included), the shot of star Michael Cera wielding a flaming freakin' sword only made the wait until the August release that much more difficult. Fortunately, we managed to get Wright on the phone to share a few more details about his adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's comic book series when we named him one of MTV Movies' "10 For 2010" filmmakers.

From early screenings to the film's mysterious action sequences, Wright revealed where the film is at right now and some of what we can expect when "Scott Pilgrim" finally hits theaters.

"Yeah, we have a cut, and we're still tinkering with that," said Wright of the film's current status. "It’s a different thing doing a film with lots of effects in it; it’s like another stage to have production be going on during the edit, which is an on-going thing. It’s like a painting, basically." Casting for the roles of Hal Jordan, Carol Ferris, Hector Hammond and Sinestro is already finished on the "Green Lantern" front, but there's still no word on who will play Kilowog.

Director Martin Campbell already confirmed that Kilowog, the hulking pink alien Green Lantern Corps member, would have a role in the upcoming DC Comics adaptation. While he's not likely to have the same amount of screen time as the aforementioned main characters, Kilowog nonetheless needs an excellent actor behind that brutish mug.

As is the Secret Identity tradition, here are five actors that would do a tremendous job bringing Kilowog to life in "Green Lantern." Read More...

Red"Red" kicked off production earlier this week in Toronto, and now the first photos from the set of Robert Schwentke's film based on the Wildstorm comic have arrived online.

The seven photos posted on The HSX Dude feature two of the film's stars, Bruce Willis and Mary-Louise Parker, and offer the first glimpse at how the adaptation of Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner's miniseries will look when it arrives in theaters October 22. The comic followed a former black-ops CIA agent forced out of retirement to discover who ordered his assassination.

Previously, Schwentke told MTV News the film would be a "funny" take on the dark thriller. Ellis has since offered up his thoughts on why the changes were necessary. Read More...

Zoe SaldanaHollywood frustrations bubbled up in the Twitter Report today, with Chris Ryall questioning the use of Val Kilmer in the "MacGruber" movie and Mike Choi commenting on the lack of serviceable actors on screen who can speak both English and Korean. These sentiments were tempered by a rave review of Lars Von Trier's "Antichrist" by Dave McKean.

Unlike Hollywood, no one can hate on Brian K. Vaughan today, and Splash Page joins his "Ex Machina" artist Tony Harris in congratulating Vaughan on his new son.
