Fin Fang FoomFin Fang Foom — the classic dragon-like monster created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby — will make an appearance in “Iron Man 2”, according to artist Adi Granov.

“This was my design for Fin Fang Foom for the ‘Iron Man Viva Las Vegas’ book I was doing with Jon Favreau,” explained Granov in a recent post on Super Robot Mayhem. “But this image in particular was done for [“Iron Man 2”] and used as a billboard in one of the scenes where Iron Man flies past it. It's very quick, but Jon wanted to have a kind of a cool easter egg in there.”

Spider-ManLast week, we devoted our weekly reader poll to asking your opinion of the latest news to rock the comic book movie world: the conspicuous absence of a "ROM: Spaceknight" movie in Marvel's 2010 film slate.

Okay, so that wasn't what we asked... but come on, was there ever any question about last week's poll topic? The news that Sony was dropping plans for "Spider-Man 4" and rebooting the entire "Spider-Man" movie franchise in 2012 was the biggest story of the year, and continues to develop as the search for a new "Spider-Man" director and actor to play Peter Parker continues.

We asked what you thought of the "Spider-Man" movie news, and you responded — in a big way. Read More...

Iron ManTwo men with far-reaching influences on the comics industry have passed away, and both Taco Bell founder Glen W. Bell Jr. and crime writer Robert B. Parker appeared in various tweets this morning. Check out the posts below and you'll find out which well-known artist used to work at a Taco Bell and which writer steamrolled through Parker's novels when he was in junior high.

The Twitter Report will continue to cheer him on until we've got a film to watch, just as Brian Michael Bendis' kids anxiously anticipate the next episode of "iCarly." Find out why, as well as what Jeff Lemire's inks for the "Sweet Tooth" #9 cover look like and what Tom Brevoort thinks of the Marvel/DC rivalry after the jump.

Spider-Man is having a rough time of it lately with the cancellation of his blockbuster movie franchise and delays plaguing the massive "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" musical. While quite a few aspects of the Spidey musical are currently in limbo, one of the two well-known musicians responsible for the film's score — U2 bandmates Bono and The Edge — seems to think there's still hope for the friendly neighborhood webslinger to swing into Broadway... eventually.

"We're just waiting until all the production issues get resolved," The Edge told MTV News on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. "It's going to happen at some point. It's really a case of when — that's the question." Read More...

SinestroIn a recent exclusive interview, director Martin Campbell revealed to MTV News that Mark Strong is in talks to play Sinestro in "Green Lantern," effectively ending rumors of Jackie Earle Haley's involvement in the superhero film. Still, Sinestro's participation in the movie's events doesn't necessarily mean that the character will appear as a villain.

Campbell spoke with Superhero Hype about Sinestro's role in "Green Lantern," stating that while the character is likely to show his villainous colors at some point, the revelation might wait for an eventual sequel.

Ultimate WarWhile Marvel’s current line of direct-to-DVD animated features kicked off with two films based on the publisher's “Ultimates” universe, a third film that would have pit the Avengers versus the X-Men was ultimately scrapped in favor of last year’s “Hulk Vs.” DVD.

“My understanding is this would have been an adaptation of the ‘Ultimate War’ series,” animation director and storyboard artist Steven E. Gordon (“X-Men: Evolution”) told Marvel Animation Age. “I never read a treatment, but since I was working very closely from the comics I assume they adhered pretty closely.”

“Ultimate War” was a four-issue miniseries by Mark Millar and Chris Bachalo first published in 2002. The story brought the X-Men into conflict with the Ultimates after Magneto was freed by the Brotherhood. Read More...

Clark GreggS.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson might have received the cold shoulder from Tony Stark in "Iron Man," but he'll get at least two more chances to earn a warm reception from Marvel movie audiences when he returns in "Iron Man 2" and "Thor."

Played by Clark Gregg, Agent Coulson will return for both the "Iron Man" sequel and Kenneth Branagh's "Thor," according to Variety. The return of Gregg's character only further confirms the presence of S.H.I.E.L.D. throughout the overarching Marvel movie narrative — a common line likely to culminate in the superhero team-up film "The Avengers."
