Marvel Comics' living legend, Stan Lee will create and star in "Super Seven", a new comic property produced by Lee's Pow Entertainment, A Squared Entertainment and Archie Comics.
According to Variety, "Super Seven" revolves around seven powerful aliens who are marooned on Earth. Lee will appear as himself and mentor the aliens as they become superheroes to protect their new home.
"Super Seven" is being jointly developed as a comic for both print and digital mediums as well as an animated series that is set to debut in the fall.
"Nothing is more exciting to me, as a writer, than creating a new type of story or introducing a new theme," related Lee. "Although I've briefly appeared in other comics, 'Super Seven' is the first time that I'll actually be a continuing character in a far-out, original superhero series."
In recent years, Lee has appeared in cameo roles in live action adaptations of some of his most famous co-creations, including "Spider-Man", "Hulk", "Fantastic Four", "Iron Man" and "X-Men."
Outside of Marvel, Lee has created numerous characters and concepts. In the past year alone, Lee has optioned "Nick Ratchet", "Heroman" and is developing "Hero" as a TV series for Showtime.
Last month, the Walt Disney Company acquired a stake in Lee's Pow Entertainment shortly after their acquisition of Marvel Entertainment.
