Iron Man 2 - TwitterJon Favreau and Edgar Wright both had their upcoming comic book movies on their minds this morning. Favreau made some calls on "Iron Man 2" special effects, and Wright just wants to see a few good animated GIF files come out of his hard work on "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World."

Elsewhere, Mike Deodato posted a pic of himself hooked up to some tubes. It sounds like he's doing just fine, and I hope that's the case, because I'm really looking forward to "Secret Avengers" in a few months. The post is retweeted after the jump along with a confession by Todd McFarlane, John Allison's thoughts on Michael Chabon's "The Yiddish Policemen's Union" and some thoughts on signed comics.

Twilight Unbound Stephenie Meyer comic bookIt's no surprise that Bluewater Productions' comic book biography of "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer sold well — very well, in fact — so it should probably be no surprise that yet another printing of the comic is headed to shelves.

Revealed exclusively to MTV News today, the publisher announced plans for a new, hardcover edition of "Twilight Unbound: The Stephenie Meyer Story," featuring updated content and a brand new cover image. The edition will hit shelves in May before "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" arrives in theaters, and include post-"New Moon" updates on the cast and, of course, the creator of the "Twilight" books.

Read on for an exclusive first look at the new "Twilight Unbound: The Stephenie Meyer Story" hardcover edition cover, as well as the official text of the publisher's announcement. Read more...

Under The HoodThe animated "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths" film finally arrives in stores today. And while the latest "Justice League" movie has barely been released, animation legend Bruce Timm is already dropping hints about the next DC Animated film: "Batman: Under The Red Hood."

"It's really good," Timm told Comic Book Resources. "That's about all I can say about it at the moment. It really is. We actually have the footage coming back from overseas, literally as we speak. We have two acts out of four, and it looks really, really solid. It's a really cool story. It's pretty darn dark but at the same time, it's fun and emotionally involving, so I think it's going to be a really terrific movie."

Timm also elaborated on why Bruce Greenwood and Jensen Ackles were cast as Batman and the Red Hood, respectively. Read more...

Fraggle RockArchaia announced their upcoming "Fraggle Rock" comics as the beginning of a wider lineup of titles produced in cooperation with the Jim Henson Company, but there's a good reason the 25-year-old group of colorful cave-dwellers will appear first in line.

According to Melissa Segal, senior vice-president of global consumer products for Jim Henson Company, the "Fraggle Rock" comic is part of a big push to get the puppets in front of a new generation while still connecting with parents who grew up with the Fraggles. That's a process that has involved working with some of the original minds behind the 1980s TV series at The Jim Henson Company, recruiting big names in indie comics like Jeffrey Brown, and support for a marketing effort behind adult Halloween costumes and a feature-length film.

Splash Page got an advance look at the alternate cover to "Fraggle Rock" #1 by Jeffrey Brown ("Clumsy," "The Incredible Change-Bots"), featuring Gobo Fraggle's world-trekking Uncle Traveling Matt discovering comics in the "Outer Space" world of humans. Read more...

According to The Guardian, a 1938 edition of "Action Comics" #1 was sold yesterday for the massive price of $1 million, officially becoming the most expensive comic book purchase of all time. Previous copies of "Action Comics" #1 have sold in the ballpark of $300,000 to $450,000.

This particular issue of "Action Comics" was graded an 8.0 out of 10 by Certified Guaranty Company — better known as CGC — hence the unprecedented price tag. Read more...

Gil BellowsAs the ninth season of "Smallville" heads towards the home stretch, another familiar face from the DC Universe is set to debut on the show.

According to a report on IGN , Gil Bellows — perhaps best known for his roles in "Ally McBeal", "The Agency" and "24: Redemption" — has been cast as Maxwell Lord. Bellows will appear in an episode called "Charade" and may potentially recur as Lord in future episodes.

Maxwell Lord was created in 1987 by Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis and Kevin Maguire during their seminal run on "Justice League International." Lord was an amoral — though ultimately heroic — businessman who ran the Justice League for several years before betraying the DC heroes in the lead up to "Infinite Crisis." Read more...

Live SchreiberThanks to the reassurances of star Hugh Jackman and others, there's been little doubt among fans that last summer's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" will see a second installment in the near future. With screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie already tapped to adapt Chris Claremont and Frank Miller's ronin period to the character's cinematic canon, now the only real question is whether anyone from Wolverine's past might join him in Japan.

When asked about the potential "Wolverine" followup, Schrieber told MTV News he hoped he'd be participating should the sequel move forward.

"Hugh [Jackman] has talked about the fact that he wants to work on the Japanese angle," said Schreiber, "I’ve got my fingers crossed that Victor pops into that somewhere. I’m not sure yet. I don’t remember from the comic books [if he’s in there]." Read more...

Don Cheadle plays an undercover cop in "Brooklyn's Finest," but comic book fans know him better as the new face of James "Rhodey" Rhodes, the man who becomes War Machine in "Iron Man 2."

Given his upcoming debut as Iron Man's military-minded counterpart, we had to spend a little time during this weekend's "Brooklyn's Finest" junket getting Cheadle's take on where "Iron Man 2" stands and whether we'll get to see Marvel's armored heroes square off in the May 7 sequel.

"I think that thing's going to be delivered dripping wet to theaters," said Cheadle when asked where "Iron Man 2" is at in post-production. "Friday, I have to go back and do a re-shoot, so..." Read more...

The Walking Dead"The Walking Dead" is coming to television, but with shooting starting in May, fans still have quite the wait to endure before seeing Frank Darabont's television adaptation of Robert Kirkman's survival horror series. Still, that doesn't mean that the zombie epic's fans are entirely without live-action material to chew on.

Over the weekend, Image Comics linked to a fan-made short film version of "The Walking Dead," depicting one of the series' less action-oriented moments — but a scene that's filled with drama and tragedy nonetheless.

Watch the video after the jump, but if you haven't read up to "The Walking Dead" #51, there are MAJOR SPOILERS ahead. Read more...

Confession time, folks: There are a few of us around Splash Page HQ who are big fans of M. Night Shyamalan's dark superhero tale "Unbreakable" — so we can't help bringing up the possibility of a sequel every time we talk to the filmmaker or one of the film's cast. Back in June 2009, Shyamalan told us that he still had plans for a sequel, so when we caught up with actor Bruce Willis during this weekend's "Cop Out" junket, we had to get his take on whether we'll ever see "Unbreakable 2."

"I talked to [Shyamalan] over the holidays, and he is still thinking about doing the fight movie between me and Sam that we were going to do," Willis told MTV News. Read more...
