With rave reviews from early screenings and an official release date in sight , director Edgar Wright's highly anticipated adaptation of "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" has finally received its first theatrical poster.
[UPDATE: Official images of the poster can now be found on the "Scott Pilgrim" movie website.]
ComingSoon.net has posted the first glimpse of the poster from this year's ShoWest (currently taking place in Las Vegas, NV). The poster features Michael Cera's Scott Pilgrim playing his guitar, with the slogan "An epic of epic epicness."
Created in 2005 by Bryan Lee O'Malley, the "Scott Pilgrim" series has become one of the most popular independent comic book series of all time. The story follows Scott Pilgrim — "a slacker, hero, and a part-time bassist" — who must face the seven "evil exes" of his dream girl, Ramona Flowers.
The "Scott Pilgrim" film features Cera in the title role and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona, along with Kieran Culkin, Jason Schwartzman, Anna Kendrick, Brandon Routh, Chris Evans, Mark Webber and Alison Pill.
Film director Kevin Smith recently offered his take on "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World."
"['Scott Pilgrim'] is great," said Smith. "It's spellbinding and nobody is going to understand what the f--- just hit them. I would be hard-pressed to say, 'he's bringing a comic book to life!' but he is bringing a comic book to life."
"Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" will be released on August 13, 2010. You can check out a larger version of the photo below at ComingSoon.net.
