Even though "Kick-Ass" fell a little short of box-office expectations this weekend, anyone who's seen it knows that there's certainly sequel potential in Matthew Vaughn's ultraviolent adaptation. And if there is a sequel, stars Aaron Johnson and Christopher Mintz-Plasse seem to already know where it could take their characters.
During an interview with MTV News, Mintz-Plasse revealed that "Kick-Ass" co-creator Mark Millar had shared information with him about the sequel during the actor's trip to the Edinburgh Film Festival.
"[Millar] wants [the sequel] to go very, very dark," related Minzt-Plasse. "My character becomes very dark and very evil in the sequel."
"Matthew [Vaughn] and Mark [Millar] have some fantastic ideas and they're a great team," added Johnson. "When they start coming up with some great ideas, I'm interested. I think comic book fans are going to be very pleased at the outcome of this. If you enjoy this [film], I think you can't wait for the sequel, because its going to be crazy."
Johnson also reiterated his desire to return for the sequel, which he first mentioned to MTV News back in January.
Late last year, Millar hinted at his own plans for the comic book sequel with John Romita Jr., which Millar tentatively titled "Balls To The Wall."
"We always saw this as at least a trilogy," said Millar. "There might even be more. I had the whole second series worked out two years ago."
Back in February, Lionsgate launched a contest that would cast the winner as a character in Millar and Romita Jr.'s next "Kick-Ass" miniseries.
