If you're not in tune with The Force, you might not realize that May 21 is the 30th anniversary of the release of "The Empire Strikes Back" in theaters. Considered by many to be the best of the six-film "Star Wars" franchise, "Empire" holds a special place in my heart — mainly because of the toys.
You see, I was one of many kids who owned one of the original, massive AT-AT toys back in the day, and I'm also one of the many who no longer knows what the heck happened to that big, beautiful, four-legged hunk of awesome. Thank god for Hasbro, though, because they've got me — and anyone else longing for their old AT-AT — covered.

Yeah, it's just as awesome as it looks — and then some.
While we haven't put the sucker together yet, the AT-AT stands about 2' tall when assembled (I saw one during Toy Fair), and there's a good chance it's bigger than your dog or cat. (MTV Movies Blog editor Adam Rosenberg, our resident Star Wars junkie, plans to make a full AT-AT/pet comparison.)
It hits shelves on August 1 along with a slew of other items in Hasbro's "Star Wars: The Vintage Collection" line. Not only am I looking forward to seeing the toys, but I'm told they'll come with the retro-tastic 1978-1984 packaging, too.
Yup, that's a win no matter how you look at it.
