The new spot opens with Sokka (Jackson Rathbone) and Nicola Peltz (Katara) navigating the glaciers of the North Pole. They spot a source of light glowing beneath the ice and bust through, releasing a spherical orb with a mysterious hooded figure within.
Cut to Aang (played by newcomer Noah Ringer) unleashing his martial arts-style airbending in Ice world, with a voiceover describing what Aang must do: "Airbender, only you have the power to master all the elements and save us all."
This is followed by quick cuts of Sokka announcing to Princess Yue (played by Seychelle Gabriel) the arrival of the Fire Nation, then a glimpse of Cliff Curtis as the power-hungry, war-obsessed Firelord Ozai, culminating in several intense action sequences - including a fight scene between the young Airbender and Prince Zuko (played by "Slumdog Millionaire" star Dev Patel).
For "Last Airbender" newbies, the story (based on the hugely popular Nickelodeon series "Avatar: The Last Airbender") revolves around 12-year-old Aang, the Avatar — a chosen one embodied with "the spirit of the planet manifested in human form." He has the ability to manipulate the four elements and is tasked with keeping the Four Nations at peace, which will be difficult because the Fire Nation has been waging war against the other tribes for 100 years.
In order to defeat them, the young Airbender — along with his Waterbender friend Katara and her warrior brother Sokka — must master all four elements in order to restore balance to their world.
