Back in April, a rumor surfaced that "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart was in the running to play the female lead in a sequel to "Wanted," Timur Bekmambetov's follow-up to the 2008 film based on Mark Millar and J.G. Jones' comic book series.
When MTV News sat down with Stewart during the press junket for "Twilight: Eclipse," we checked in with the actress to find out if there was any truth to the rumor that she'll be following in Angelina Jolie's footsteps alongside returning "Wanted" star James McAvoy.
"It's weird to answer questions like this," said Stewart, who simply stated that "the only two projects that I am confirmed in now are 'On The Road' and '[Twilight:] Breaking Dawn.'" Read more...

I'm thankful that even if I didn't have Brian Michael Bendis and Rob Liefeld's tweets to read every morning when I get up, Twitter would still have artwork posts by Philip Tan and Yildiray Cinar. And you should be, too!
As far as the big topics getting batted around in trending over the last day or so, the latest "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" trailer is still getting around, as is an avatar generator that Edgar Wright appears to be a fan of. I still haven't seen a link though! Check out his thoughts, Bryan Hitch's expectations for the movie, and which writer wouldn't mind seeing Nightwing with his pants off.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and these are the prominent issues of the day in the Twitter Report for June 17, 2010. Read more...

If there's anything readers of "Jonah Hex" comics have learned, it's that you should never ask the scarred bounty hunter about his face.
Never. Not-freakin'-ever. Don't even look at it. Seriously. Because if you do make the mistake of asking about his scar, what happens to the fool in the following clip might happen to you:
See? Bad move.
Of course, you can see more people making bad moves around Jonah Hex when his big-screen debut hits theaters this weekend.

A new international trailer for "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" has arrived online, and it's pretty safe to say that the trailer is so sweet that I needed a shot of insulin after watching it.
Originally posted on director Edgar Wright's blog, the new "Scott Pilgrim" trailer features more footage of Scott (Michael Cera), Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and the rest of their gang, as well as all of the evil exes. there's an extra-awesome scene at the very end featuring an exchange between vegan rocker Todd Ingram (Brandon Routh) and Scott.
Wright has also provided a list of the tracks featured in the new trailer, including "Big Ideas" by LCD Soundsystem, "2 Kindsa Love" by Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, "Itβs Getting Boring By The Sea" by Blood Red Shoes, and "Invaders Must Die" by The Prodigy. Read more...

Yesterday we brought you the news that "Archie & Friends" was headed to beach for a comic poking fun at MTV's "The Jersey Shore," but today brings even more news from Riverdale. Archie, Jughead, Veronica and the rest of their gang will offer their unique take on the "Twilight" franchise in their next parody comic.
Revealed exclusively to MTV News, Archie Comics has provided the cover to the first issue of the two-part "Twilite" story that kicks off August 11. And like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" before it, the image pays tribute to the popular poster art for "Twilight: New Moon."
Will Betty and Veronica fall for the new, mysterious students at their school? Will one of the guys spend most of the story shirtless? Where does Jughead stand in the sparkling vampires debate? These are the questions that haunt my soul! Read more...

The long-delayed musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" may finally be ready to open later this year.
According to Variety, Marvel Entertainment has granted a fifth extension to the producers of "Turn Off The Dark." The report also states that the show may begin performances in October with an opening in November or December.
Earlier this year, Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cummings left the musical after an inordinate series of delays. While Reeve Carney will remain with the show as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Jennifer Damiano was recently cast as Mary Jane and Patrick Page ("Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas") has been named as the new Norman Osborn/Green Goblin. When Megan Fox was cast in "Jonah Hex" last year, speculation immediately grew into various rumors as to who she would play and how large her role would be. And when the first photos of her in costume appeared online, the internet chatter only intensified.
However, Fox later revealed that her role in "Jonah Hex' was only a cameo appearance. While her time on the set was relatively brief, Fox told MTV News that it was an intense shoot.
"I only worked on ['Jonah Hex'] for five days in Louisiana," said Fox. "And we would shoot all day. So we worked really hard for those five days and then they wrapped. It was definitely an intense process for sure, to cram all of that into such a short amount of time." Read more...

THE STORY: "Irredeemable" by Mark Waid (W) and Peter Krause (A) β Boom! Studios
WHAT IT'S ABOUT: The Plutonian β once Earth's greatest superhero β has snapped and is now the deadliest supervillain ever, having destroyed his home city and murdered an entire country. His former superhero teammates desperately attempt to find a way to stop him, while guarding some dark secrets of their own.
WHY IT WORKS: If there's anyone who has a complete understanding of how superhero comics work, it's Mark Waid. While The Plutonian and The Paradigm are clearly inspired by Superman and the Justice League, Waid is able to twist the original dynamic into a fresh and twisted view of the superhero genre. Possibly one of the most widely disseminated images from "Jonah Hex" that doesn't include Megan Fox in a corset, the photo of DC's bounty hunter firing a horse-mounted gatling gun has been the target of both cheers and criticism from fans. Maybe that's why the studio released a new clip from the film that shows the exact moment Hex puts his crazy, death-dealing toy to use.
And there you have it, folks: Jonah Hex and his horse-mounted gatling gun. See it on the big screen this weekend!
