Sure, we know there was a lot of improvising on the set of "Iron Man 2," but did that lead to it becoming the most mistake-filled movie of the year?
Over at MovieMistakes.com, they've compiled a running list of continuity errors, character miscues, and various other mistakes made in films over the last few years. And guess what, true believers? "Iron Man 2" sits atop the list with 45 mistakes and counting.
Yes, Jon Favreau's action-packed sequel to the 2008 blockbuster has a firm grasp on the lead thus far, but the director is in good company. Martin Scorsese's thriller "Shutter Island" is in second place with 34 mistakes reported.
Wondering what sort of mistakes were made in ol' shellhead's latest big-screen bow? Here's a sample:
When Ivan is first brought to meet Hammer, Hammer is eating a dessert with a cherry on it. The cherry disappears and then reappears. The spoon also keeps swapping between being inside the food and by the saucer.
During the final aerial battle at Hammer's expo, when War Machine's suit is still compromised and he is helping Iron Man evade Whiplash's drones, Iron Man accidentally once refers to War Machine as "Don," as in Don Cheadle, when War Machine's name is James Rhodes.
In the opening senate scene, the Senator's jar of water keeps turning around and moving closer/away from the sign with his name on between shots.
And for those who caught the secret "Iron Man 2" ending, this one's for you:
In the hidden scene the car stops and you get a flash of the front of the car the New Mexico license plate is in focus (to show were they are). However in New Mexico they only issue you one plate to be used at the rear of the car.
You can see the full list of "mistakes" from "Iron Man 2" over at MoviesMistakes.com. While I can't verify any of these mistakes at this point, it's certainly an interesting checklist to keep handy once "Iron Man 2" hits the home video market.
No matter how many "mistakes" you find, though, I think there's one thing we can all agree on: "Iron Man 2" was a heck of a film.
