Ghost RiderJohnny Blaze is set for one more ride through the gates of Hell when Nicolas Cage reprises his role as the flaming skulled vigilante in "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" for directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor — just don't expect his childhood sweetheart Roxanne to be riding shotgun.

Superhero Hype recently spoke with "Ghost Rider" actress Eva Mendes during a press junket for the upcoming comedy "The Other Guys." When asked if she would be participating in the upcoming relaunch of the "Ghost Rider" franchise, Mendes offered a simple: "No, unfortunately."

While Mendes' lack of involvement is certainly disappointing news for fans of her work on the first film, it's hardly surprising. In 2008, MTV News put the same question to Mendes about the possibility of a "Ghost Rider" sequel, and she was similarly unenthusiastic. Read more...

Sam RaimiJust because Sam Raimi has parted ways with the "Spider-Man" franchise doesn't mean the filmmaker is leaving comic books altogether. In fact, the director has just booked his next paneled page property.

Heat Vision reports that Raimi is attached to direct "Earp: Saints for Sinners," based on the Radical Publishing graphic novel of the same name. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman at DreamWorks, Radical president Barry Levine and Star Road Entertainment's Josh Donen are serving as producers.

"Saint for Sinners" tells a reimagined version of Western icon Wyatt Earp, thrusting the gunslinger into a dystopian future where he routinely takes out the bad guys and hangs his hat in Las Vegas. The comic was created by Matt Cirulnick and David Manpearl, with Cirulnick also writing the film's screenplay. Read more...

Judge DreddWhen it comes to the history of "Judge Dredd" on the big screen, there's very little question that the fictional futuristic law man would have a field day tearing into Sylvester Stallone and the other filmmakers who first brought the 2000AD character to theaters. But fans are hoping for better luck when Dredd makes his cinematic comeback in the developing Pete Travis-directed and Alex Garland-scripted reboot of the "Judge Dredd" character and franchise.

The project remains in the developing stages with casting yet to be announced, but that's not to say that Garland's screenplay isn't making the rounds already. The Playlist received a script review from an anonymous writer, who describes the upcoming "Judge Dredd" reboot as a mixture of "Die Hard" and "Blade Runner."

"Imagine 'Die Hard' taking place within the world of 'Blade Runner;' that’s the 'Judge Dredd' script offered by Alex Garland," writes the reviewer. "Clocking in at 110 pages, this is not the most complex or plot heavy story. What is offered is a high-octaine, action filled screenplay, that is both hardcore and gritty." Read more...

Pixar CarsJeff Parker has some shocking theories about the relationship between Pixar's "Cars" and "Wall-E" that you may be interested to know more about. They came up over the weekend in a discussion with Mitch Breitweiser about "2012." Cars were also on Ed Brubaker's mind yesterday, and if you were following his tweets, you now know whether or now he wants you to blast music from your automobile if you pass him on the road.

Elsewhere, G. Willow Wilson weighed in on Sarah Palin comparing herself to Shakespeare following the former Alaska governor's inventive use of the English language in some headlining tweets recently. Check out Wilson's recommendation, Frank Tieri's philosophy on killing characters in comics and what kind of class Brian Michael Bendis recently enrolled in.

Lots of people hang out with zombies on the weekends, but most of the time they're of the drunken variety, shambling from bar to bar on a Friday night. Last month, I spent a hot Sunday with a decidedly different type of zombie when I visited the Atlanta set of "The Walking Dead," Frank Darabont's live-action adaptation of the hit comic book series by Robert Kirkman.

There was shambling, there was flesh-munching, and yes, there was even a little post-apocalyptic zombie-killing action on the ravaged streets of downtown Atlanta. And I'm proud to give Splash Page readers the first, exclusive video from the set of AMC's upcoming "The Walking Dead" television series.

Arriving on AMC this October, "The Walking Dead" follows a small group of survivors making their way in a world overrun by flesh-hungry zombies. And while other zombie stories tend to focus on the undead contingent, Kirkman's long-running series has been lauded for putting the spotlight on its human characters and the changes that occur when making it through a day without losing your life or that of your loved ones is an accomplishment. batman - russell brandChristopher Nolan and Christian Bale can step aside — there's a new dynamic duo in town steering the "Batman" franchise in a very, uh, interesting new direction.

Apparently, fans don't have to wait until Nolan returns to Gotham City with "Batman 3" in 2012 to get their next dose of the Caped Crusader. Instead, all they have to do is wait for Russell Brand's "Arthur" remake to arrive in theaters next year. Having already taken a ride in the Batmobile, Brand's titular mischievous millionaire continues to let his DC Comics freak flag fly in new set photographs obtained by Coming Soon.

To say any more would ruin the surprise, so hit the jump and see the new Dark Knight for yourself! Read more...

News regarding some of the big films at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego is hitting the 'Net faster than we can keep up with it these days. After getting our first good look at Thor, Odin, and Loki from, well... "Thor"... we also got our first look at Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern last week. And now, as if to one-up the "Green Lantern" team, another image from "Thor" has arrived online.

This time around, it's a wide shot of Odin's throne in Asgard, with Thor kneeling before the king of the Norse gods, flanked by Loki and Frigga on one side, and Hogun and Fandral on the other.

The image debuted in The L.A. Times this week, and along with giving us the first look at several more gods from Thor's universe, it also provides us with the first shot of Loki with his iconic horned helmet! Read more...

Bryan SingerEarlier this month, several rumors indicated that "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner was approached for a role in "X-Men: First Class."

And although the reports were initially scoffed at by industry observers — and even Hugh Jackman himself — there was apparently some truth to the rumors, according to "X-Men: First Class" producer, Bryan Singer.

"I wanted Taylor [Lautner] to do it, I really did," Singer told Blastr. "He's doing a movie in Pittsburgh called 'Abduction' and then he's got the next 'Twilight' movie. We talked about it a lot, he is a friend, and I really wanted to make it work. It just doesn't look like it's possible to do it." Read more...
