Inception"Inception" arrives in theaters today, providing moviegoers with yet another healthy dose of Christopher Nolan's crazy adventures in filmmaking. Of course, "Inception" isn't necessarily what comic book fans are most eager to see from Nolan's camp — those fans are more likely craving Nolan's return to Gotham City in the untitled "Batman 3" and his debut trip to Metropolis as a producer on "Superman."

But that doesn't mean we can't blend Nolan's "Inception" sensibilities with his comic book plans, folks. After all, "Inception" boasts a great deal of talented actors, including a handful who have already appeared in Nolan's "Batman" films such as Cillian Murphy, Michael Caine and Ken Watanabe. What's the harm in adding a few more?

After the jump, see the "Batman" and "Superman" characters we would task out to the "Inception" cast! Read More...

Sam Worthington has a lot more on his plate than just starring in history-making blockbusters and reboots. When MTV caught up with "Avatar" and "Clash of the Titans" star recently to talk about his foray into making comic books and graphic novels — via his comic book imprint Full Clip Productions, and Radical Publishing — we learned there's a lot more to the Aussie than we thought.

The first thing he told us was that he and his Full Clip partners, John Schwarz and Michael Schwarz, did not get into the comic book business to make comic book movies.

“There’s an indication that we’ve been writing comic books in order to kind of do these showcase vehicles [for movies]. That’s not the case at all – we’re not that arrogant or egotistical. We’re actually fans of comics, and I think primarily any creative endeavor has to be — you have to have a good story." Read More...

ThorEarlier this week, an image of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Tom Hiddleston as Loki from director Kenneth Branagh's upcoming "Thor" adaptation appeared online.

And while the earlier picture didn't receive universal acclaim, a newly released photo of Hemsworth and Hopkins may get a better reception.

The picture was first discovered at Superhero Hype and appears to have been scanned from a magazine. The image depicts a more stoic moment between Odin and his son, Thor. Read More...

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The WorldWith just under a month before "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" kicks its way into movie theaters, a new clip shows a decidedly different side of the film than we've seen to date.

Comic Alliance debuted the new footage (but doesn't let you embed the video) which focuses on the love triangle between Scott (Michael Cera), Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and the aptly named, Knives Chau (Ellen Wong).

While the clip doesn't offer much in the way of new footage, it does depict Scott's attempt to decide between Ramona and Knives before admitting that he sees a future with Ramona "with jetpacks." Read More...

iPad OdinYou've seen what Anthony Hopkins looks like as Odin in "Thor," but you probably haven't seen him artistically rendered on an iPad by Pia Guerra. She posted TwitPic of her take on the Allfather today. Mark Millar, meanwhile, issued another proxy update on "X-Men: First Class" based on a conversation he had with Matthew Vaughn.

You can find out what's going on there after the jump along with some thoughts on Christopher Nolan's "Inception" and the story of what David Mack did when a young neighbor kid came knocking on his door for his advice. That heart-warming tale and Brian Michael Bendis' skepticism await you in today's retweets.

Director Christopher Nolan's "Inception" hits theaters today, and while everyone's throwing around terms like "groundbreaking" and "revolutionary" to describe the mind-bending film, there's one question on the minds of most comic fans: how does it match up against his previous blockbuster, "The Dark Knight"?

In an interview with MTV News, Nolan described how "The Dark Knight" and prior films like "Memento" played a role in the development of "Inception."

"I've been very fortunate in my career in many ways, but very much in the way in which I've been able to build one film to the next," he told MTV News. "I started with the smallest-possible-scale film, 'Following,' which I made with friends on weekends — just us doing to it. To 'Memento,' which had a real budget and a real cast. I gradually built on that." Read More...

Green LanternThe floodgates have opened, and more "Green Lantern" images have arrived online!

Just a few hours after we got our first look at Ryan Reynolds in costume as Green Lantern, a trio of new images from the film have hit the 'Net. Posted over at iFanboy, the new images are scanned from this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly, where all the "Green Lantern" madness originated thus far.

Among the photos is our first look at actress Blake Lively as Carol Ferris, Hal Jordan's love interest in the film (and future nemesis?), as well as a shot of Peter Sarsgaard as the mutated villain Hector Hammond and Tim Robbins as Hector's father. Read More...

San Diego Comic-Con 2010If you've never attended San Diego's Comic-Con International extravaganza, just imagine having 100 awesome things happening at the same time, but you can only participate in one of them — and only if you wait in line for an hour while missing 100 entirely different but equally awesome events. Extend that over 4-5 days, and you'll start to understand the Comic-Con experience.

Nevertheless, the things you do get to see are almost always worth looking forward to — because everyone goes big or not at all when it comes to Comic-Con.

Our pals over at UGO recently polled some of the best and brightest around the comics and movie scene (and for some reason, me) about what they're looking forward to at this year's Comic-Con. They'll all be covering the show from every which way possible, so between them and our own Comic-Con 2010 coverage here on Splash Page, we'll have you covered when it comes to the 99 things you're missing every hour.
