Earlier today we heard from award-winning filmmaker Frank Darabont about the lead actor chosen for "The Walking Dead," AMC's upcoming television series based on Robert Kirkman's celebrated comic.
Over on the project's official blog, AMC has posted five new images from "The Walking Dead" featuring the aforementioned lead, actor Andrew Lincoln, and a horde of flesh-hungry zombies. Fans of the comic will likely recognize the scene depicted in the photos, with former police officer Rick Grimes (Lincoln) encountering some obstacles of the dead, shambling, and brain-munching variety when he enters the city of Atlanta.

"The Walking Dead" premieres in October on AMC.
