"Piranha 3D" was the big new movie topic of the night yesterday in the Twitter Report feed. If your tastes tend to sync with Matt Fraction's, you may be a fan. Other creators out there remain skeptical though.
Across the ocean, Edgar Wright got together with a few of his "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" collaborators again. Mark Millar may not have been able to make the British premiere for the film, but he still promises that he's going to get around to seeing it. You can find his lament below along with some great advice for aspiring comic book writers from C.B. Cebulski and Jimmy Palmiotti's contribution to the ongoing In-N-Out Burger vs. Five Guys debate.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for August 20, 2010.
"Piranha 3D" pt. 1: @mattfraction About to see Shakespeare as it was meant to be played if by Shakespeare you mean "Piranha 3D" & by played you mean "at midnight with chris."

"Piranha 3D" pt. 2: @kierongillen @mattfraction I want there to be a Piranha 1D based around transdimensional predators attacking from oblique angles.
-Kieron Gillen, Writer ("Thor," "Phonogram")
"Piranha 3D" pt. 3: @danluvisiart Wait. Piranha 3D is getting good reviews!? F---...might have to go see it now.

-Edgar Wright, Director ("Scott Pilgrim vs. The World")
@dresdencodak Scott Pilgrim was so good! A perfect comic movie! Why aren’t you seeing it RIGHT NOW?
-Aaron Diaz, Writer/Artist ("Dresden Codak")
@mrmarkmillar #scottpilgrim has been trending on Twitter all week. Surely a good sign? I can't wait to see it and bummed we can't get down for premiere.
-Mark Millar, Writer ("Wanted," "Kick-Ass")
@jpalmiotti who ever wrote that 5 guys is better than IN N OUT burger...well, he was paid off.
-Jimmy Palmiotti, Writer ("Jonah Hex," "Painkiller Jane")
Parting Wisdom for the Weekend:
@CBCebulski Hey, new writers, if you see a Marvel comic, like DD, is supposedly "ending", it's not an open invitation to e-mail us that you have ideas.
-C.B. Cebulski, Sr. VP, Creator and Content Development (Marvel)
