Scott Kurtz has been preparing his lines for the Harvey Awards ceremony Saturday in conjunction with Baltimore Comic-Con. He's setting a high bar for himself, too, since he predicts that he'll be booed off the stage for at least one joke. Glenn Beck will also be attracting attention on Saturday in nearby Washington, D.C., and while Laurenn McCubbin didn't weigh in on the event's messaging via Twitter, she did take issue with Beck's poster designer.
Elsewhere in the feed, Simon Spurrier made a bold prediction about the lady caught throwing a cat away on camera, Jeff Katz issued a warning about Spider-Man pimp chalices, and Andy Diggle found some closure over a problem he had with "Inception." Find out if you shared his grievance below, as well as if you agree with Rick Remender's failsafe plan for meeting American Presidents.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for August 27, 2010.
@laurennmcc Wow - the dude who designed Glenn Beck's poster basically makes a living by ripping off a more famous designer.
-Laurenn McCubbin, Artist ("Quit City," "Sable and Fortune")
@Remender The lesson: If you want to meet a President, become a prisoner of North Korea.
-Rick Remender, Writer ("Fear Agent," "Punisher")
@cameronMstewart Writing the dialogue script for Assassin's Creed. It's a strange feeling, with Sin Titulo and AC, to now legitimately be a comics writer.
-Cameron Stewart, Writer/Artist ("Batman and Robin," "Sin Titulo")
@pvponline Holy sh--. I just wrote a joke for the Harvey's that's probably going to get me booed off stage. Looking forward to saying it.
-Scott Kurtz, Writer/Artist ("PvP")
@andydiggle That INCEPTION plot hole I thought I'd spotted? Nolan totally had it covered in the script: "Cobb pulls Eames out of Fischer's earshot."
-Andy Diggle, Writer ("The Losers," "Hellblazer")
@KatzMoney Note to self: Don't drink vodka out of a Spider-Man pimp chalice. It is deceptively large.
-Jeff Katz, Writer/Producer ("Booster Gold," "Freddy vs Jason vs Ash")
Parting Wisdom for the Day:
@sispurrier You'll all feel stupid when Cat-Bin-Lady publishes her revolutionary paper updating Schrodinger's quantum theories. #catbinlady
-Simon Spurrier, Writer ("Gutsville," "Wolverine: Dangerous Game")
