Stan LeeGrowing up with Stan Lee's "Stan's Soapbox" columns, I always dreamed of doing work for Stan "The Man" when I grew up. Sadly, my lack of any artistic skills whatsoever put a bit of a crimp in that plan — but if you're an aspiring artist, you can still live that dream.

The Stan Lee Foundation is looking for an artist to create the new nonprofit organization's logo, and it's holding an open call for willing designers.

In a new video posted on the Pow Entertainment website, Lee addresses his "brave brigadiers" and explains both the organization's purpose and the open call for a new logo artist. Over on the Foundation's official website, there's more information about the organization, as well as a bunch of videos explaining the importance of comics in literacy efforts, as well as a 1977 gem of an interview with Lee. John GloverPrior to the start of the tenth and final season of "Smallville," the CW Network indicated that several former cast members and guest stars would be returning to the series. And while Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor remains elusive, his onscreen father is making a comeback.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that John Glover has agreed to reprise his role as Lionel Luthor in at least two episodes of the tenth season, both of which are tentatively expected to air in November.

Glover last appeared on "Smallville" back in the seventh season, when Lex Luthor murdered his father by pushing him out of a window. It's not currently known if Lionel Luthor will be resurrected for his appearances, or if he will appear in visions to Clark Kent (Tom Welling) as Jonathan Kent (John Schneider) is expected to. First ClassWith director Matthew Vaughn's "X-Men: First Class" scheduled to begin filming next week, some surprising details have come to light courtesy of "First Class" producer Bryan Singer.

During an interview with Ain't It Cool News, Singer confirmed that the film will be set in the 1960s — with John F. Kennedy as the President and Martin Luther King and Malcolm X leading the Civil Rights movement — and that "First Class" will invoke the Silver Age of Marvel Comics in terms of the costumes worn by the heroes and the "James Bond" tech of the time period.

Singer also confirmed that Kevin Bacon's mystery villain will be none other than Sebastian Shaw of the Hellfire Club. Read More...

The search is on for Peter Parker's new love interest in the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot, with the list currently narrowed down to five young actresses — Lilly Collins ("Priest"), Ophelia Lovibond ("Nowhere Boy"), Teresa Palmer ("The Sorcerer's Apprentice"), Imogen Poots ("Fright Night") and Emma Roberts ("4.3.2.1."). Curiously enough, none of these women will play Mary Jane Watson, but a new love interest altogether.

In a special edition of Secret Identity, we're weighing in on the pros and cons of the five alleged front-runners for the "Spider-Man" leading lady! Read More...

Things To ComeActor Walter Koenig is best known for playing Pavel Chekov, the navigator for the U.S.S. Enterprise in the original "Star Trek" television series and films, but over the course of a career that has spanned more than 50 years of acting, writing, and directing, he's managed to carve out a niche for himself in other areas, too — including the comics world.

The author of Malibu Comics' early-'90s series "Raver," Koenig returns to the comics world next year with "Things To Come," a four-issue miniseries he's scripting that will be published by Bluewater Productions. Set in a post-apocalyptic world in which vampires have become the dominant species, Koenig's tale promises to feature a very different take on the vampire stories that have become all the rage these days.

I spoke with Koenig today to find out more about the series, as well as Bluewater's plans to re-issue the original three-issue "Raver" series next year with a brand new story featuring the character. Read More...

WolverineThe script for "Wolverine 2" has been in place for a few months now, and Hugh Jackman recently cleared his schedule to begin the process of beefing up to bring the clawed Canadian mutant back to the big screen. One thing that's still missing, however, is a director.

While "X-Men" director Bryan Singer had been rumored as a top contender to get behind the camera for "Wolverine 2," Vulture is reporting that "Twilight: Eclipse" and "30 Days of Night" director David Slade is the current favorite for the role. "Red" director Robert Schwentke is also under consideration to helm the film, and both filmmaker will meet with Jackman next week.

The report cites anonymous "well-placed sources" in the studio, claiming both filmmakers have been approved by 20th Century Fox, and are only awaiting Jackman's decision. Read More...

Piranha 3D"Piranha 3D" was the big new movie topic of the night yesterday in the Twitter Report feed. If your tastes tend to sync with Matt Fraction's, you may be a fan. Other creators out there remain skeptical though.

Across the ocean, Edgar Wright got together with a few of his "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" collaborators again. Mark Millar may not have been able to make the British premiere for the film, but he still promises that he's going to get around to seeing it. You can find his lament below along with some great advice for aspiring comic book writers from C.B. Cebulski and Jimmy Palmiotti's contribution to the ongoing In-N-Out Burger vs. Five Guys debate.

Although we've seen a few images of "Thor" actor Tom Hiddleston in costume as Loki, Thor's villainous adopted brother, we've yet to see a good, high-res image of him in the character's iconic horned helmet — not officially, at least. (Anyone able to attend the Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con got a good look at Loki as comics fans know him best, and others got a look at him in the "Thor" trailer that leaked online a little while ago.)

When MTV News had a chance to sit down with Hiddleston, we asked him about the familiar horned helmet Loki is known to sport.

"It was extremely hot, because we were all wearing a lot of armor — we were wearing leather pants and breastplates and shoulder plates and bicep plates, and the cape was very heavy," Hiddleston told MTV News. Read More...

TMNTWhen Nickelodeon picked up the rights to "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" last fall in a $60 million dollar deal, it was clear that the company wanted to make it one of its next franchises. And apparently Paramount — a sister company to Nickelodeon through Viacom — has taken steps to make sure that it happens sooner rather than later.

Deadline is reporting that Paramount has hired screenwriters Art Marcum and Matt Holloway to write the screenplay for the new live-action "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie.

The studio is placing the film on a fast-track development cycle and reportedly wants the first draft by October so that the studio can then look for a director to bring the film out in 2012. Read More...

Emma RobertsEarlier this year, the search for a new "Spider-Man" came down to five up-and-coming actors before Andrew Garfield ultimately won the role of Peter Parker. And now the search for Spidey's new love interest is also intensifying.

Lilly Collins ("Priest"), Ophelia Lovibond ("Nowhere Boy"), Teresa Palmer ("The Sorcerer's Apprentice"), Imogen Poots ("Fright Night") and Emma Roberts ("4.3.2.1") are among the finalists to play the female lead in director Marc Webb's "Spider-Man" reboot, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story also states that Palmer has already read with Garfield while Roberts (pictured) has flown in twice from the set of "Scream 4" to read for the part.

The report also indicates that additional actresses may be under consideration and that Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“Scott Pilgrim vs the World”) was among the finalists at one point before dropping out. The actresses are said to be meeting with Webb and Garfield this weekend and if none of them pan out another round of casting will begin. Read More...
