The members of Team Unicorn — Michele Boyd, Clare Grant, Milynn Sarley and Rileah Vanderbilt — are responsible for a new video that premiered on Break.com and is making the viral rounds as we speak. And "Geek and Gamer Girls" is an appropriately titled number, considering that it parodies Katy Perry's number one single, "California Gurls." Read more...

DeadpoolIf you were worried that Ryan Reynolds is too busy to film "Deadpool" thanks to commitments to the "Green Lantern" franchise, "R.I.P.D.," "Safe House" (opposite Denzel Washington) and a number of other projects — well, we can't say we blame you. But Reynolds himself insists that he's pushing forward with the Wade Wilson solo project, whether you believe him or not.

Reynolds spoke extensively about the developing film with Hero Complex, saying that "Deadpool" is going to go in "such a different direction than a superhero movie usually goes."

"It's a nasty piece of work," he elaborated. "It's just based in so much emotional filth, completely. It's like ‘Barfly‘ if it were a superhero movie. It sort of treads into the world of an emotionally damaged person. I always say that Deadpool is a guy in a highly militarized shame spiral… It's so different than the superhero movies to date, it departs so far from that." Read more...

We're just a few weeks away from the arrival of "Iron Man 2" on DVD and Blu-Ray, but we have yet another sneak peek at one of the bonus features you'll find on both versions of the film.

Last week, we brought you "Iron Man 2" director Jon Favreau's memories of working with DJ AM during the party scene at Tony Stark's mansion, and this week we have a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most memorable scenes from the film: the brawl at Monaco Grand Prix.

As anyone who's seen the movie knows, this scene also marked the debut of Tony's briefcase armor (a.k.a. the Silver Centurion armor). Read more...

We're inching ever closer to the October 31 premiere of "The Walking Dead," AMC's new television series based on Robert Kirkman's long-running comic.

When I visited the Atlanta set of "The Walking Dead" in June, I spoke with "Walking Dead" writer, director and producer Frank Darabont ("The Mist"), who made it clear he's not only a hardcore fan of the Image Comics series, he simply can't wait to get to some of the fan-favorite characters that appear later on in the story.

"I can't wait to get to Michonne and The Governor," grinned Darabont. "I can't wait to get to those characters. I love those characters." Read more...

Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern"Green Lantern" star Ryan Reynolds is a magazine cover boy yet again — which is appropriate at a time when the actor’s charms are being utilized for critically praised and/or huge-profile projects as opposed to the under-the-radar comedy and horror films that formed the foundation of his early career.

One of those high-profile projects is of course, “Green Lantern,” which Reynolds just happened to be in the midst of filming when GQ visited the set for a profile of the actor. Describing Reynolds in the midst of a scene, the magazine may have revealed an alien guardian we could see at a vital point in the film.

Clad in the gray, one-piece motion-capture suit we saw in an earlier image and Reynolds himself called “my fantasy dancing jammies,” the “Green Lantern” actor said he sweat through scenes at the New Orleans set. Read more...

Tron Betrayal ComicWith Walt Disney Company settling in as the new owner of Marvel Comics, and the studio's "Tron: Legacy" set to debut in theaters December 17, it was only a matter of time before a new Tron comic was born.

Back in July, we gave you a peek at the cover to "Tron: Betrayal," the upcoming prequel comic that unfolds in the time between 1982's "Tron" and the 2010 sequel. Now we have the first three pages, too.

The first issue of the two-part miniseries will hit shelves October 6, but the full two-issue graphic novel will be released in collected form November 16. "Tron: Betrayal" is written by Jai Nitz, with interior art by Andie Tong and a cover by Salvador Larroca. Read more...

James Gunn's SuperYou may notice a parallel or two when you first see the premise for James Gunn's new movie "Super." He's tackling some subject matter involving an average fellow (Rainn Wilson) who decides to become a superhero. Mark Millar endorses the movie, however, and explained why it doesn't rip off of "Kick-Ass."

Elsewhere, Gail Simone confronted a real-life threat in the form of a bear, according to her posts yesterday. It sounds like she survived intact, but you can check out her initial shock in tweet form after the jump. Other highlights today include Greg Rucka's assessment of "Mass Effect 2," high hopes for "Halo: Reach" and some hot Paolo Rivera Hellboy artwork.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for September 14, 2010. Read more...

The AvengersMore and more news arrives each day regarding Marvel's upcoming "Avengers" film that teams up Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and possibly even the Hulk.

In the comics world, the Avengers were initially a group of solo heroes who met up in a joint effort to capture the Hulk. Realizing that the green goliath was largely misunderstood, they offered him friendship, and then decided they could all work together as a team that would fight menaces no single hero could handle.

Over the years, the team has altered, grown, disbanded, reformed and has even expanded into different branches working simultaneously in different areas. They’ve fought aliens, world conquerors, time travelers and alternate-reality menaces. So the question becomes: Who will they battle in the live-action movie?

While some of their classic stories would involve a heavy dose of continuity, here are a few arcs that could be streamlined (with a little imagination) into a two-hour film for the mainstream audience. Read more...

"Iron Man 2" hits shelves later this month, and even though we already brought you a complete list of the "Iron Man 2" DVD/Blu-Ray special features, a few of the featurettes included in both formats have already hit the 'net.

Last week, we gave you a peek at "Iron Man 2" director Jon Favreau reflecting on his time with DJ AM on the set of the film. Today, Movies Online has posted a featurette that spotlights the climactic battle between Iron Man, War Machine, and a host of robotic drones in a beautiful Japanese garden.

My favorite part of the footage? Seeing Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle dressed in motion-capture suits and the Iron Man and War Machine helmets, respectively. It's a weird sight, right? Read more...

MarvelEarlier today I brought you a segment from my Comic-Con interview with Joe Quesada, in which the Marvel Editor-in-Chief discussed the company's plans for their newly minted television development division.

During our chat, Quesada indicated that the purchase of Marvel by The Walt Disney Company opened many new doors for television-based projects — including any number of live-action series based on Marvel's stable of characters. While he couldn't get into specifics, the idea of regular live-action adventures featuring Marvel's finest had readers buzzing in the comment section (and on Twitter) — so now I'm wondering which character you'd most like to see make the jump to the live-action TV world.

I've created a poll below with some suggestions off the top of my head and from previous reader comments. I've also included an "Other" option that will allow you to suggest a character or team you'd like to see on the small screen. (By the way, you get bonus points for choosing ROM or Man-Thing.)
