RiptideWith filming underway, “X-Men: First Class” updates are coming fast and furious. We’ve seen January Jones rock an “Uncanny X-Men”-inspired fluffy white Russian hat along with The White Queen’s iconic go-go boots and cape. We’ve absorbed fan reaction to the news that the “X-Men” prequel would include at least one mutant from Grant Morrison’s “New X-Men” and only two from the comic’s Silver Age “First Class” while still being set primarily in the 1960s.

Reports are emerging now that another new (this time “Uncanny”) mutant may have been added to the cast. According to ComicBookMovie, Spanish actor Alex González has been tapped to play Janos Quested, a.k.a. Riptide. Read More...

Grant MorrisonAs if his status as one of the most respected comic book authors of our time and being the subject of his very own documentary weren't rewarding enough, Grant Morrison is carving another notch in his belt as the star of a new music video.

Morrison has apparently teamed up with My Chemical Romance front man Gerard Way for "Art is the Weapon," a short video posted on YouTube and teasing the upcoming launch of MCR's next album, "The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys." Morrison makes his debut in the video at the 0:50 mark, grinning devilishly at the camera and later appearing as a gun-toting villain squaring off against the members of Way's band. Read More...

Stan LeeJust a few months ago, "Golden Girls" actress Betty White made headlines by turning a Facebook fan campaign into a guest hosting gig on "Saturday Night Live." Now, fans of comics legend Stan Lee are hoping to do the same for the co-creator of Spider-Man, the X-Men, and countless other iconic characters.

The "Stan Lee on SNL" campaign kicked off this weekend on Facebook, encouraging fans to support the veteran, cameo-friendly creator as a potential "SNL" guest host. Anyone interested in seeing Lee appear on the long-running live skit show is asked to "Like" the page, become a fan, and pass the word along.

Lee's become no stranger to cameos in movies and commercials these days, so a guest hosting gig on "SNL" certainly seems like an attainable goal. Of course, the fact that many of his creations are breaking records at the box office the last few years probably doesn't hurt, either. Read More...

Back in early July, there was no shortage of online discussion regarding "Incredible Hulk" star Edward Norton's departure from the Marvel movie universe. The high-profile parting unfolded in an uncommonly public forum, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announcing the decision on a movie news blog, prompting Norton's agent to fire back at what he called an "offensive statement" from the studio chief. Less than 48 hours later, Norton himself posted a statement on his Facebook page, saying the experience "hasn't turned out as we all hoped."

During last weekend's Toronto International Film Festival, MTV News chatted with Norton a little more about the chaotic course of events that led up to his exit from the Marvel movie universe.

"I said what I had to say about that," said Norton, who was in town promoting "Stone," his new drama co-starring Milla Jovovich and Robert De Niro. "I didn't want to be negative about anything. I had a great time doing that. I was very happy to be part of it all." Read More...
