Karl UrbanWith a new title and a talented lineup of actors, writers and filmmakers involved, director Pete Travis' forthcoming "Dredd" is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated comic book adaptations of the next few years.

Empire Online discussed "Dredd" with Karl Urban, who stars in the film as the titular helmeted judge, jury and executioner. During the interview, Urban acknowledged that playing a mostly masked character comes with its fair share of challenges — but there are many ways to compensate for Dredd's partially obscured appearance.

"You're taught as an actor that if you take away the eyes you have to think about what you're left with," he said. "There's the voice; there's body language. How a character does what he does speaks volumes. So those are the tools I will have to employ." Read More...

ChewWith all of the excitement swirling around during Comic-Con this year, many fans missed the news that director Stephen Hopkins and Circle of Confusion are interested in developing John Layman and Rob Guillory's critically acclaimed "Chew" into a television series.

For those who aren't reading "Chew," the series focuses on Tony Chu, an FDA agent who gleans psychic information from anything he eats with the exception of beets. In other words, chewing on a murder victim's corpse could lead to a big break in the case. It's not the most glamorous ability in the world, but it absolutely makes for a compelling read.

Although it's very early in the proposed television adaptation's life, we're giving "Chew" the Secret Identity treatment anyway. Read on for our dream cast! Read More...

Jon StewartCurrent events captured a lot of attention in the Twitter Report feed last night, with the tornado in New York and former President Bill Clinton on "The Daily Show" both sparking reactions. Nathan Fillion thought the tornado was just New York's way of welcoming him to the city, while Clinton and host John Stewart's newly-announced "Rally to Restore Sanity" turned his episode into a talking point.

Meanwhile in the U.K., Mark Millar missed a chance to see the Pope, but he didn't sound too broken up about it. His own words, another reaction to Joaquin Phoenix's "I'm Still Here" and an odd Chinese vodka discovery await you after the jump.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for September 17, 2010. Read More...

We're just short of a year away from the premiere of "Priest," director Scott Stewart's upcoming film based on Hyung Min-Woo's popular manhwa series, but that just means there's plenty of time to get to know the film and its source material before it debuts in theaters.

Not familiar with "Priest" and its cast of characters? Don't worry — we've got you covered. MTV News caught up with stars Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, and Karl Urban, and had them introduce the characters they're playing in the film.

"I play Sheriff Hicks, and I'm the sheriff of a small town where my girlfriend gets kidnapped by a pack of vampires," said Gigandet. "I enlist [the help of] Paul Bettany, Priest, and we are on the road to find and rescue her." Read More...

Anthony BourdainAnthony Bourdain is an acclaimed chef, food author, world traveler and television personality best known for "No Reservations," his globe-trotting Travel Channel series that shines the spotlight on the world's greatest culinary treats. Now, he can add another job to his ever expanding resume: comic book author.

Robot 6 discovered a pair of interviews in which Bourdain revealed that he's in the midst of working on a graphic novel for DC Comics tentatively titled "Get Gyro," a story that takes his obvious passion for food and sets it within a high octane comic book world.

"It's about ultraviolent food nerds," Bourdain told the Omaha World-Herald about his graphic novel. "It's a gourmet slaughterfest, sort of like 'Fistful of Dollars' meets 'Eat Drink Man Woman.'" Read More...

DC EntertainmentBetween "Green Lantern," a developing script for "The Flash" and Christopher Nolan's work on his third "Batman" film and a "Superman" reboot, there's little debate that DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. executives are treating their superhero catalogue rather seriously. Still, their exact plans for the future remain murkier than, say, Marvel Studios' public rollout plan building up to "The Avengers" in 2012.

But the theatrical future of DC Comics is about to become much clearer, according to a new report from Heat Vision stating that Warner Bros. plans to publicly unveil its superhero strategy "in about a month." Read More...
