You don't have to believe in aliens to believe that "Men in Black 3" is on its way. The second sequel to the 1997 extraterrestrial themed action comedy is shaping up with casting announcements aplenty, with the latest one — if true — taking us to an all new "District."
Pajiba reports a rumor that "District 9" star Sharlto Copley is joining the cast of the third "Men in Black," as are Gemma Arterton and Alec Baldwin. The actors are said to be in negotiations for the film, so it's best to remain skeptical of their involvement until official word comes down the pipeline.
If they join the film, Copley is expected to play "a fast-talking Yoda type alien," while both Arterton and Baldwin haves roles to play in the 1969 version of the MIB agency. Much of the film's plot deals with time travel, with Josh Brolin previously announced as playing a younger version of Agent K. Tommy Lee Jones is still expected to appear in the film.
In addition to Copley, Baldwin and Arterton, "Pussycat Dolls" musician and "Dancing with the Stars" champion Nicole Scherzinger is rumored for a cameo role in "Men in Black 3," playing the girlfriend of Jemaine Clement's villainous Yaz.
Earlier this month, it was announced that "Harry Potter" actress Emma Thompson would be joining the sequel as Agent Oh, a "take-charge MIB operative who is monitoring a prison breakout."
Filming on "Men in Black 3" is expected to shoot in New York City from October through May of next year.
