The new face of Bruce Banner, Mark Ruffalo, is rapidly approaching his debut as Hulk's human alter ego — but don't expect the actor to reveal too many details about his role in 2012's superhero team-up extravaganza "The Avengers."

When MTV News snagged a few minutes with Ruffalo at this week's Gotham Awards, we asked him about rumors that Hulk would be the villain in "Avengers," and whether he's hulking out for his upcoming turn as Marvel's green goliath.

"I've been walking past the mirror and doing some of my Hulk moves," joked Ruffalo. "I'm getting there." Read more...

FirebreatherIf you dug Cartoon Network's new "Firebreather" movie last week, you may be in luck because art Andy Kuhn sounds optimistic that more animated action could be waiting around the corner.

Not everyone was quite so happy in the Twitter Report feed today, though. Wikileaks attracted some criticism following their U.S. embassy cable revelations over the weekend, and George W. Bush blew R. Stevens' mind by forever altering the landscape of his social network. Find out why after the jump along with who loves "True Grit" and how "Invincible" #76 is coming along.

Back in September, we gave you the first, exclusive look at "All Star Superman," the next film in DC and Warner Home Video's popular line of animated features. Based on Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's award-winning 12-issue series, the film explores how the Man of Steel spends his remaining year after being diagnosed with a fatal case of radiation poisoning.

Warner Bros. released the full DVD and Blu-Ray specs for the feature this week, as well as the box art for "All Star Superman" on Blu-Ray. Read more...

The "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" musical had a rough debut this week, but even a questionable turn on Broadway isn't likely to hurt the 48-year-old character's popularity. The story of Peter Parker's evolution into one of the greatest superheroes in the Marvel Universe has long resonated with hardcore comics fans and mainstream audiences alike — and the occasional rock star, too.

When MTV News sat down with U2 bandmates Bono and The Edge to discuss "Turn Off The Dark," the pair both saw some similarities between Spidey's story and their own lives.

"He grow up in Queens, we grew up on the north side of Dublin, [we both had] fairly humble origins," Bono told MTV News. "He falls in love with the girl next door, I married the girl next door. He starts to put on a silly costume, yes..." Read more...

SmallvilleThis week's "Smallville" offers up a classic "good Clark, bad Clark" story when Clark Kent (Tom Welling) accidentally changes places with his counterpart in an alternate universe. The catch? The alternate-universe Clark was raised by Lionel Luthor instead of the Kent family.

Titled "Luthor," the December 3 episode features the directorial debut of longtime "Smallville" producer Kelly Souders, who gets behind the camera. The episode was written by regular "Smallville" scribe Bryan Q. Miller, who also authors DC's ongoing "Batgirl" comic book series, as well as other projects on the print side of the DC Universe.

Last week we posted a bunch of images from the new "Smallville" episode, and now The CW has released a new teaser, too. Read more...

Joe QuesadaAlthough Guillermo Del Toro and David Eick have both confirmed their work on a new "Hulk" television project, the series isn't officially official yet — at least not according to Joe Quesada.

The Marvel Entertainment chief creative officer spoke with Comic Book Resources about the company's upcoming plans for Marvel TV. When asked about rumors of the new "Hulk" show and a possible "Cloak and Dagger" series on ABC Family, Quesada declined to comment on "anything that we haven't formally announced or on anything in the rumor mill."

That said, Quesada did have plenty of thoughts to share on the overall goals of Marvel TV, including the thought processes that go into deciding which Marvel characters are best suited for a television series. Read more...

After countless setbacks, controversies, and casting changes, "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" premiered on Broadway this weekend for preview audiences. And though Spidey's debut on Broadway wasn't exactly spectacular, that doesn't mean U2 bandmates Bono and The Edge have anything but high praise for the mesh of comics and rock music found in "Turn Off The Dark."

In an interview conducted last week, the musicians elaborated on the connections between rock music and graphic novels, and the various ways they're describing the ambitious collaboration between themselves and "Turn Off The Dark" director Julie Taymor.

"There's always been a thing with punk rock bands and comics," Bono told MTV News. "It's always been there. Even The Ramones, who are also from Queens like Peter Parker and Mary Jane, they covered the theme to Spider-Man." Read more...

Leslie NielsenComics tweeters returned from their Thanksgiving weekends to a couple of sad deaths in the world of entertainment. "Naked Gun" actor Leslie Nielsen and "Empire Strikes Back" director Irvin Kershner both cemented their status in film decades ago, and their fans and critics alike showed up in our feed this morning.

Elsewhere on Twitter, stars like Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga have been making headlines for not posting so they raise money for World AIDS Day. Brian Michael Bendis didn't seem impressed. Find out why after the jump, along with who Greg Rucka would like to see follow him and what Ron Marz thinks of Cyber Monday.

Ghost RiderSome new photos from the Romania set of "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" have emerged online, once again showing Nicolas Cage reprising his role as flame-headed avenger Johnny Blaze for the superhero sequel.

The images first debuted on Romanian site Libertatea, showing Cage in multiple poses as he tinkers with his motorcycle and points at the camera. But Cage isn't the most interesting person in these photos — that distinction belongs to the kid he's riding with, if certain rumors are to be believed.

Although the young actor's name isn't known, it's believed that the child seen riding with Cage's Blaze is the very same kid who is supposedly the son of The Devil, played in the film by Ciaran Hinds. More importantly is the rumor that this character is none other than Danny Ketch, well known to Marvel Comics fans as the third character to use the Ghost Rider name. Read more...

HalcyonWay back in June 2009, we gave you an early peek at "Resurrection," writer Marc Guggenheim's comic book series that followed a small group of human survivors in the aftermath of an alien invasion. One of the co-writers on the upcoming "Green Lantern" movie, Guggenheim was simultaneously scripting the Oni Press comic and a screenplay for a live-action "Resurrection" movie when MTV News spoke with him last year.

This month, Guggenheim's brand new comic book series "Halcyon" hit shelves, and just like "Resurrection," it also deals with the aftermath of some big events in the world. Guggenheim's first co-writing project with his wife, "Halcyon" explores the question of what the world's superheroes do when the battle for truth, justice, and everything else, well... ends.

I spoke to Guggenheim last month to get some background on "Halcyon," to find out whether there's also a movie in the works for this new title, and to get a status report on the "Resurrection" movie. Read more...
